We leave 2 weeks from today & I still can't figure out when & where to eat. I am sure I have waited to long on some of them :sad2:

When I decide to go somewhere I read a review that says it wasn't good food or the kids didn't like it, they got put at a bad table, etc. etc. Now after trying to decide for all of these weeks I'm afraid I've probably ruint it for the kids. Not that eating is the best part but it does add to the atmosphere. ;)

Does anyone know of good places that you don't have to make ressies? Ha Ha, fat chance I know. I refuse to do Mcdonald's ! ! ! !

Is it too late for places like Cal Grill & Whispering Canyon ? I guess most of our meals will be outside the parks :sad1:

Don't fret. Considering that you are going at an "off-peak" time, I think you will still be able to get ADRs for some decent places.

You might be shut of of the castle and Chef Mickey's but I bet you can get in anywhere else.

Heck, I got in as a walk-up during Easter (without an ADR). Was it my first choice of where I would dine? No. But you will get a place.

When I'm choosing places to eat, I first think of the type of places/food I like. I then start reading the reviews. If they are 70-80% good reviews, I'll go, despite the fact that there are a portion of bad reviews.

When I start seeing the amount of bad reviews EQUALING the good reviews or outweighing them, I will stay away. But sometimes, even if I'm just REAL curious, I will try a place.

So, quit overthinking this, pick out some places TODAY, and get on the phone with WDW-DINE today. I envy you because, as stressful as it is, I really like planning out my food!

YES!

I am sitting here with the DDP restaurant list printed out, the menus in another window, and two disboards windows open so I can look up and read the reviews.

On the floor next to me are 3 WDW planning guides. My head is spinning and I am thinking of just moving to Orlando. I am such a foodie so I want to try everything. It is driving DH batty because I keep changing my mind. I wish he would help out but he is leaving it all up to me. The kids are too young to help and I don't want to spoil the fun for them like the antics at WCC.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!!!

I agree you have to get on the phone today, there might be cancellations so don't fret. I think they following are some good options for you since you say you have kids.

Chef Mickeys, just try you might get in
Crystal Palace, another just try they have all 3 meals here so good luck
Beaches and Cream they do not take ADR's( unless something changed that i know of)
Try some other resort dining that might not be as crowded, try to get earlier times or off times. if it helps here is some of the places my kids and I love that may help you narrow your options.

Cape May Cafe - dinner
Ohana's breakfast and dinner
Chef Mickeys dinner
CP any meal
Sci-Fi
50's prime Time
Hollywood and Vine
Earl of Sandwich DTD, they are CS and have really good sandwiches
LeCellier, you probably willn ot get in unless you catch a cancellation
hmmmmm, I can't think, mind went blank, but just call and see what is available you might be surprised! Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I am leaving in two weeks and about 3 weeks ago I changed some of my ADR's around and booked Crystal Palace for breakfast and got all the times I wanted with no problems at all. So you maybe ok yet if you call soon. Of course I am sure it all depends on what places you are trying to get.

Thanks guys, I feel much better. Especially knowing that I am not the only one who does this (gigireese ;) )

It just seems that everything is hitting @ once. I spent 11 days in bed with the flu followed by bronchitis, so to say the least I am a little behind

Thankfully I did all of our clothes shopping etc. a month ago :woohoo:

I am still trying to decide but I do have it narrowed down & will decide for sure today. Thanks again for all of your help & suggestions :thumbsup2

I agree with the poster that said if 70 to 80 perecent of the reviews are good, go to the restaurant. I got all hung up on the reviews and then, when i really started reading them I realized people that thought something made the experience horrible was the same thing that made someone else's experience wonderful! Your really can't rely on others reviews. You can however take into account the overall review percentage. I also checked the reviews between the disboards and all ears. If both have a majority of bad reviews then the resturaunt was out. If however the majority was good or at least one of the websites had mostly good reviews, we went with it.

We also started out with WHAT we liked to eat followed by where we were located to see if we could match the two. We also decided what we wanted out of our trip. (we want to explore resorts this time) so we have a lot of meals in different resorts instead of the parks).

Go with what looks appealing, what your family will seem to like.

Take things into account like: type of resturaunt your family likes, atmosphere, style of food aka:buffet, character, quiet, loud etc..

And get booking!

You'll have a great time no matter WHERE you decide. A "bad" meal at Disney is better than anywhere else right?
