I recently called Disney to book a vacation in December. I inquired about a code but didn't have one. I asked CM to see if I was eligible for any discounts during my stay. Well she found one and placed the reservation on hold for me. I call back 2 days later to pay my $200 deposit and I asked the CM what type of discount I had received on my reservation and she indicated 40% off room rate. I knew that free dining hadn't worked out exactly right on the math so that explained why I couldn't make the numbers work. I decided to book an extra night on my vacation at AOA (my reservation is at WL) and called to see if the code was valid for AOA. The CM said we have to transfer you to the bounceback team. That confused me but whatever. I was transferred to bounceback and I asked the CM about the code applying to AOA. His response was "Are you still here?" At that point I realized the CM had originally book my reservation with a bounceback code. I indicated "no" I wasn't there and he said he couldn't add any additional rooms since I had checked out.
I was not at WDW when the original reservation was made (haven't been in over a year) and I called from my cell phone.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen?
No flames please. I had no idea this was a bounceback. The original CM simply said she had found a code that would work for me. I'm glad I got the code but I have no idea how she applied it to my reservation.
