Anyone else enjoy it when a ride stops?

I admit - I really enjoy it when a ride stops. Granted, probably not if it were 30 minutes or something. But I see a lot of complaints over a 3 minute stop. I was stopped on Haunted Mansion in the cemetery, and it was really cool. We got to look around and see things we'd never see otherwise. Also on Peter Pan, Ariel's Undersea Adventure and Spaceship Earth. Plus - our family makes a game of it. Anytime a ride stops we play a very quick and fun game of I-Spy! Anyhow, just thought I'd throw that question out there.

It all depends on the circumstances.

Stopped (and later evacuated) from the race-track section of Radiator Springs Racers was totally awesome. We could soak in the details and take some non-blurry photos.

Stopped +20 minutes under the obnoxious vultures in Splash Mountain wasn't very fun. We were just thankful we were just floating and not reclined on the lift hill like the riders in front of us. The anything / anytime FastPass we received soothed most of our displeasure.

I feel sorry for anyone stuck in It's a Small World.

Every time I have EVER gone on HM, it has stopped! I think I'm cursed. But like you, I love it!

Well...except one time. I got stopped where the doors are creaking and knobs are knocking. That's the only part of the whole ride that gives me the creeps because I have always been scared of the thought of intruders. So I wasn't too fond of that!

All other times though, especially in front of the graveyard busts, I LOVE IT!

We were stopped on SM in Paris which was pretty cool, but a little scary as I was at the back and kept imaging the car behind crashing into us!!
I have been on HM 4 times at both WDW and Paris and it has stopped every time but like you said it kind of cool

Splash mountains stopped and it was kinda cool to see the hidden door ect that I never look at. I just don't think id like to be stopped on a track ride ... Water ride not so bad. Also haunted mansion in Disneyland that has stopped many many times, used to scar me when I was young

It seems like every time we ride Spaceship Earth lately, we get stopped at the very top. Its dark up there, so there's not that much to look at. And I'm not fond of heights, so whenever it happens, all I can think about is, "What happens if we have to evacuate? What's actually under us? Just how well is this thing made?" I know it's completely irrational! But I can't help it.

People mover stopped inside space mountain when it was down and the lights were on. Very cool to see the track in the light.

They stop so often because the need to stop the belt to load and unload handicapped guests. I enjoy it as I usually take the time to see something new.

Being stuck at the top of EE feeling like we would fall backwards for 20 minutes was not so much fun. They did allow us a second ride with no wait though.

I also got stuck in the elevator on ToT once on a night " just like this". There were terrible thunder storms and my kids were panicking! That was claustrophobic inducing, but it's still one of my favorite rides!

DID get stuck in It's a Small World on my first trip. I had made my Mother and Sister get on it for a second time. They were pretty upset with me after that.

I did enjoy getting stuck on Haunted Mansion for a bit. I noticed a lot of things I had never seen before and that's when my obsession with the wallpaper in there began! I even grabbed the Haunted Mansion iPhone case

Getting stuck on a ride at Disney is a lot less painful than getting stuck on a ride in a theme park that has huge coasters. Been stuck on a few coasters elsewhere in very uncomfortable positions.

I've been stopped on HM almost every time I've been on it, usually when I'm going backwards into the graveyard scene.

My ex and I were stopped and evacuated from test track 4 years ago, we just left the room with extreme heat, thank goodness! We got a fast pass to use for the next day.

Was down there back in 2010 and both my family and my DW's sis and her family got stuck on the old version of TT. It was 3 of them and they were ahead of us, and 4 of us.

The ride broke down right as we were about to go from inside to the outside through the doors. We basically just about opened them, that meant that the other car was up ahead. Only to find out lata that they were stuck on that hard left Bank. Needless to say we waited maybe 10 minutes or so n then proceeded. Once we arrived@ the main station, not only did they let us go around again, they let us all go 2 more times.

Wow, the looks on the peoples faces waiting there in line....PRICELESS. .LOL

I do the same thing-- look at all that you might miss. Once we stopped on Buzz in the section where the sky is projected on the ceiling-- There were safety railings that popped up almost instantly along the side of the track, due to the fact that you are on a sort of bridge while going through that section. It was pretty cool.

I think in all my trips I've been stuck on just about everything that it's possible to be stuck on!! Most of the time I love it, but sometimes the endless loop of sounds starts to get to you (cough cough, small world, splash mountain) if it's a long sticking.

I got stuck on both Peter Pan and small world this week. Only Peter Pan required an overhead announcement though. I thought it was kind of cool but the rest of the people I was with seemed pretty irritated.

It's fun for 10-15 minutes to soak in the scenery... but after being stuck on PoC for close to an hour before finally being evacuated I'd prefer not to ever again. It took them 30 or so minutes before they finally muted the sound. Listening to "We want the red head!" for that long is enough to drive even the sanest person crazy. But, at least it wasn't Small World!

Stuck in the skunk room on Figment for a good 20 minutes before the ride re-started, yet all of the animatronics' voices were out of sync...

We've also been stuck on Splash, IN the unloading area, for 30 minutes. No compensation, either. :/

Other than those two experiences, getting stuck has been awesome otherwise.

Ohhhh never been stuck on figment. I think THAT would make me try desperately to escape.

I remember being stuck on the MK Skyway way back in 1995. I loved it,=-the weather was nice and the view was terrific. The only thing that annoyed me was that a CM kept running over right under me every few minutes yelling up, "Don't worry, Ma'am-we'll get you down soon!" I was solo and I think he was afraid I was going to freak out. No way!
On the other hand, we almost always get stuck on Spaceship Earth. Usually it's just for a few minutes, and like a PP said, it's probably to stop the belt for a HA guest. However, one time we were stuck for about 40 minutes, and we had an upcoming ADR in WS that I was so afraid we were going to miss. We really had to hurry after that ride!

Depends, I dont mind if it short in most cases.

HOWEVER being stuck on Its A Small World for 20 mins was sheer torture. We were stuck next to the hula girls - but it could have been worse, at least by the hula girls you cant quite hear the lyrics.

It's the last day of a great trip with andeesings - we are having a great time at Animal Kingdom. Safari, Everest, lunch at Tusker House - and we decide we have time for one last ride before heading back to our hotel to catch the Magical Express to the airport. We head over to Dinosaur, and there is no line, so we ride once. We decide to see if we can ride again with a car to ourselves to get a great PhotoPass picture - and we get stuck! I'm not quite sure where we were, but it was fairly early in the ride. Some lights came on and we were able to look around a bit, but it was a little creepy since we were alone! Also, we were stressed about not getting back in time for our Magical Express bus!

Eventually, the ride started again - and we got a GREAT picture in our empty car. It was a memorable ride stoppage for sure. (Andee - do you have the picture???)
