Anyone else drooling at the thought of a dessert/snack in Norway?

Strange as it may sound, one of the first things that comes to my mind when I think of our Jan. trip is how delicious the food is at the Norway bakery! My favorite is the treat that is somewhat similar to rice pudding, with some fruit on top. YUMMMMMM!!!!!

Anyone else with a food craving?

I love the sweet pretzel with almonds from the bakery at Norway. My first night tradition at WDW is to go to Epcot and get a pretzel.

MMMMMMM Rice Cream......

I absolutly love the scool bread. People think its butter but its a sweet cream that is in the middle and OH is is so good. And Viking coffee to go with. OK now you have done it im going to have to plan another trip to get one even though I was just there last week.

Hmmm....had a "treat in Norway once. It was OK. Now France...YUMMY!!! I'd be drooling over a French pastry right about now!:p

Must have cinnamon bun!! Must have cinnamon bun!! We stop by there as soon as we can the very first day. Oh well, there could be lots worse obsessions.:)

Skol Brod/School Bread is DH's absolute MUST have food item in WDW (along with Kona press pots). I can do a half, he can snarf down a whole in no time.

I made the mistake of getting the mini bundt chocolate pound cake once. Yikes, it was as dense as a black hole and not too good. (Must have been stale or something, because everything at Kringala has always been excellent).

This year, we are getting a few SBs for the drive home.

SF Chocolate Mousse!!!

One of my 2 indulgences........

I am going to have to try a dessert from Norway, every time I go I have to get something at France but now I am to do both...better buy a bigger size pair of pants for me to come home in:teeth:

The rice cream is wonderful but my favorite is lefse. So simple and so yummy!

I've actually never gotten anything from Norway's bakery before, but am looking forward to it this trip. I'll be stopping at Norway on the way to get hubby a canoli in Italy. ;)

Got to love that Kringla Bakery in Norway, dontcha? Yum! Everything I have ever had there was great. Sometimes if we've had a big lunch, we will stop there on our way back "home" to the BWV and have a light dinner on the balcony, with a nice bottle of wine purchased in Germany and a pastry either from Kringla or at the Pâtisserie in France. (well, no wine for the kids, but you get the idea) Yum!

OH MY GOD!!! The school bread was to die for!! I had 3- 1 every time we went to Epcot last week!!

Okay stupid question coming up. Are the cinnamon bun and the sweet pretzel called a cinnamon bun and a sweet pretzel or do thye have Norwegian names? And if so, what are they so I know what to look for.

I believe the sweet pretzel is also called a Kringle, but I believe it says sweet pretzel in the display case. I just ask for a sweet prezel with almonds and get it.

I love the rice cream it is my favorite dessert and I'm looking forward to eating it next week.

I was disappointed that they got rid of the viking ship dessert at akershus. But the mouse is great and anything that has cloudberries in it. We ate them in Norway, oh soo yummy.

luvmarypoppins,

What do cloudberries taste like and did you have them ever at WDW's Norway bakery?

Thanks,

Rhonna
