Anyone Else Disappointed with their Memory Escape Free Photobook?

oh I dunno maybe because you equated her with a moocher looking for a free ride???:confused3

I'm not his wife, but if I'd done more than one of the free photobooks offers I would have felt like a moocher, and I would have been OK with DH calling me one. After mentioning that I wouldn't get anything beyond the Bonnie Hun photoworks I got tempted, but ultimately just couldn't do it...felt too moochy!

no thin skin here I did not order this book, I don't take advantage of every free deal .....;) that comes down the pike...

What makes you think that? She does what 99.9% of the people on this board do, reads the posts to see what she can get for free. If it wasn't free or dirt cheap she wouldn't have done it.

I'm sure loads of people, now that I've posted this, will chime in about how they were actually looking to buy scads of photobooks and this free ad just happened to pop up at exactly the right time :laughing: but I'd love to see the posts people made BEFORE all the free offers came in about how badly they wanted them.

You're right, the folks that come here are looking for free stuff and I don't call that mooching, I call it being thrifty. But..after we get the free stuff we may end up actually having to pay for something the next time. I really liked the Picaboo products I made (and I had to pay for them, they were just discounted) but I didn't like how my computer reacted to thier program, and I didn't like how you had to pay full shipping for each book, so iffy if I will use them again. Kodak was fine, but options seemed limited, Vistaprints I won't use again, because of their big error. Us cheapos DO have to actually buy stuff and when we do we want decent quality, so these freebies help us to decide where we will actually spend our money.

She's obviously not as thin-skinned as you appear to be. :rotfl2:
What on earth would possibly equate to bluefairy being thin skinned?? :rotfl2:

Were trying to call her a moocher? And you think she cared? :rotfl2:

Then again, not everyone runs and cries to a mod when they get back what they dish out
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I received my Memory Escape book last week and it was great. No problems with it at all. I also got the free Photoworks book and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that book. I've showed it to so many people who were all very impressed with the quality. One friend of mine liked mine so much that she went to their website and made a book herself that she paid for. Others have asked for the web address. That's the point of the freebies -- to go back and pay and to recommend it to others. Well, I highly recommend Photoworks and will use them again. I got a 30% off coupon from them in my email and am going to use it to make another book.

Call me a moocher or whatever you want. I will wear that badge with honor when I can get free stuff! My friends were jealous that I got the book for free.

Well she's either projecting -- deciding that my wife should be offended when in reality it's her that takes offense -- or she's bought some nifty new mindreading program that she's trying out on my wife. It's not working too well, wifey thinks she's a bit daft :rotfl2:

Anyway, hope you all had a Merry Christmas. We had a nice display of all the free books my wife mooched on the coffee table, all of the family pictures really brightened up the place. :santa:

Um, OK - THAT makes total sense
Especially when she already said that she couldn't be offended since she did not receive one single free book :confused3

But keep on keepin' on in your interesting little world I guess.....:rotfl2:

Okay, well, I admit it, I'm a moocher. I went for several of these free offers. In fact DH has a saying - if it's for free it's for me. :rotfl2:

But wow, didn't intend to start a thread about that. :rolleyes1

I did also pay for several of my photo items this year; calendar for DH - had to search a lot of sites for a small flip top 8x4 one, my photo cards, etc. Plus, I make a photobook for every vacation we go on so this was a good trial for me. So I'm not a complete mooch.:flower3:

But back to the Memory Escape photo book as a customer aside from the poorly put together pages, it really was a nice item and I would have used them again, if not for this error. And if I had paid $20 to get this book, man on man would I have been p*****. But I not mad, just disappointed :upsidedow. I did get an e-mail back from them yesterday. They indicated that they were going to send a e-mail with a return shipping label so I could send the book back for them to fix it. :thumbsup2

It's a shame it didn't work out for you and I defintely won't be trying their site
.

I will say that I received a Shutterfly free promo code when I was checking out doing prints one night. Quickly composed the book for my mom from our trip to Vegas - wasn't expecting much.

What I received was a gorgeous softcover photobook.

What they received was that many people had the book 'shown off' to them - whether they wanted to see it or not, lol - and all of them have asked and asked again to make sure they knew where to upload their pictures and order them from. So they received a TON of free firsthand advertising for that free book they sent me.

I love the shutterfly photo books. I also got my first book from them as a sample and then I used them for my Disney book which was 75 pages and combined with my prints of our trip cost over $150 :scared1: so they definitely got their money back out of me.

I've also gotten free books from snapfish but those ones i've earned use mycokerewards and other sites.

I'd definitely use those two again, as well as photoworks though I didn't like their site tools.
