Anyone Else Disappointed with Sticth Ride?

I'll be seeing the show twice in April, thankfully without having seen AE, so I won't be comparing it to something else. Looking forward to it.

We never rode this attraction when it was AE.

Have you been on it yet??

We are going again in April & will give it another try to see if there are any differences (I sure hope so).

So we just got back and we got to ride it on 10/23. I am a HUGE fan of lilo and stitch BUT I am afraid to say the ride wasn't all that. Well for one I am not a big fan of the dark and I wish Stitch could have been seen more. His voice was cute and all but there was just way too many dark times for me and the younger kids in the back that were busy crying. I do have to say though, when we got off the ride and we exited into the store, I think I blacked out and woke up $250.00 broker. Darn that Stitch merchandise!! But all in all I am glad we got to ride it and I still LOVE Stitch and I probably would ride it again . . . I think.;)

I'm so disappointed about the bad reviews. I wonder if this one will be "tweaked" over and over again like JIYI?

My family and I personally feel this ride was not worth the wait. It took forever it seemed for them to fix it meanwhile it was like recreation of alien encounter except they made it with stitch. It didnt wow us and all the kids inside when we previewed it were crying.

Bummer. We are going in early December and as big Lilo and Stitch fans, we were looking forward to it. In fact, my kids were Lilo and Stitch for halloween. Well, my kids never rode AE, so to them, they may really enjoy it since it will be completely new to them. I didn't like AE because all I could hear was about 200 decibels of teenage angst. It was annoying.

Just wondering Ken, where have you found the positive reviews?
Do a search for Stitch on this site and you will find at least 10 positive reviews. I'm not sure what the rules are for mentioning other websites, so I'll just mention one that has a good combination of positives and negatives: WDWMAGIC

I would assume long lines are occuring since I've read they usually only have one show room going, while they work on the other.

I also think we will have a better idea on the overall ride late this month after the official opening as any tweaks that may occur will happen before then.

Haven't heard many good reviews either.

Spoke to a CM this morning who said that this happens when most rides are just reworked - like Figment, for example. The first rework is hated by most, so they go back and try to fix it again. This rework of AE may be the same thing...

just a thought =)

I don't think the JIYI rework is as bad as the horrible thing they did to Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. ;)

Looking forward to riding Stitch myself - hopefully after waiting in an extremely short line!

I was going to go to the passholder preview this weekend but now that I read these reviews I don't know if I should waste my time. I work the night before and the night of the preview so I'd be driving up just to see this ride preview before our passes expire next week. But with all the negative and boring remarks I think I'll skip it....
Of course I would have had to have missed the open previews yesterday. We went to MK and I always go to TL first, well it was late so I wanted to ride Thunder Mountain so we hopped on the train first... when we got to TL it was 7:05pm, the gaurd said Yes it was open, but closed 5 minutes ago... ugh! Oh well.

The big thumbs down from the four of us. My DH and I and our kids 5&8 went on this last week. My 5 year old thought it was too dark and scary and my 8 y.o thought it was dumb. My DH and I thought it was definitely NOT worth the wait. There were castmembers counting all of the kids crying coming out and asking them why they didn't like it. I also thought the seats were uncomfortable and I am not a big girl at all.

i too got had the opportunity of preview. i will say that i wasn't a big fan of AE so definitely not going to be one of Stitch either.

they are allowing children as young as 2yo. so when the lights go out, lots of crying kids. at least they should forewarn parents much takes place in the dark.

annual passholder preview is this weekend, no plans on attending.

i realize they wanted another attraction for children rather than AE more for teens and up i guess. but not sure it will be successful after a while.

sorry to be negative as well, as i so enjoy the parks about every weekend. however, one can't enjoy the parks and not enjoy one aspect.

They reallly should go with a height restriction of 38" or 40" to insure kids are at least 3-4 years old.

Hopefully this means some modifications may still take place before official opening.

brady961,

I am officially jealous. The parks everyweekend!? Oy.

This is not really a ride , more like a sit. Nothing moves so you cant call it a ride.

JIYI = Journey into Your Imagination :D

I guess I'll be the opposing view here. I was able to see it while it was open last weekend. I liked it. I will say I also liked the AE version. It was very much like the AE with some cosmetic changes. I still love Skippy(I think that's the little guys name) He is still there, but he no longer gets fried.:) THey use the same theater for the show, but add some cool laser guns. THe stitch character that appears is very cute. THe chilli breath is disgusting, but really does smell strongly of chilli so I liked that effect too. I wanted to go again, but it shut down due to technical problems. THere were no screaming kids in the show I was in and I got the impression that most people liked it(lots of laughter). I waited about 25 minutes to see it and I hate lines, but I thought it was worth it. I'd say to try it. I know I will go back again.

I'm sure I'll be trying it just to make my own mind up about it, but I have my doubts. I didn't like AE (it terrified me) but it filled a niche that has yet to be explored in WDW. US has IOA that appeals to the teen-20's-30's and WDW needs to be investing in that group of consumers.

I will try it this Dec. It will be interesting to see how it is different from what I am reading now.
