Anyone else despise this song?

"Work It" by Missy Elliott. Ugh. That song is so crude, and unfortunately, they play it a hundred times a day on the station DD and her friends listen to. At least they play the edited version, but that doesn't change the dynamics of the song very much anyway. Am I the only one that hates this song?

I have. It is the worst song ever made. I heard it one weekend when the girls were NOT in the car (thankfully)--listened hard to try to figure out what the heck she is saying until I figured out part of it is backwards. What kind of message does that send to girls? The only reason I found out who sang it (I asked my students) was that if DD EVER brings home a Missy Elliot CD, it is getting thrown out into the road. Thank goodness that so far the kids hate rap, etc. as much as I do.

I also had to look up the lyrics to find out what the heck she was saying in the one part. That's where I discovered they play one of the lines backward. I wish they'd play the whole song backward, then nobody would have to hear her words.

I like the song. It's a great song to listen to when getting ready to go out. But what do I know, I also like Emenim. Another one I really like (that most of the CB probably hates) is "She Hates Me".

I have no clue who Missy Elliot is. LOL! Sounds like I'm not missing anything. Today I had a few minutes before class and was in my van getting notes together. This guy drives by with the rap junk playing something to the effect of a girl shaking her back side. I no longer wonder why people are as messed up as they are. How horrible!

LOL! That reminds me of when my mom broke my sister's record over her knee, not once but two times! My sister was playing Only the Good Die Young. That was it. I never saw my mom hit the top of the stairs so fast in her life. LOL! After she broke it, my sister bought it again, and again it was broken. That album seems pretty tame compared to what's out there these days.

I dont know that song, but i usually dont like rap. Most of it is just "noise". Ok, so now I sound like not a 15 year old! hehe But thats really how i feel about it. Give me John Mayer or Dave Matthews over rap anyday
