I'm so frustrated! My DH's ex-wife has every excuse why she can't sign the seperation agreement so that they can proceed with filing for divorce. I'm starting to think I should postpone the wedding. It's the last thing that I want to do, but I am starting to get so frustrated. I have no idea what kind of time line it is for getting divorce papers filed, so I am really starting to get freaked out. There is only a little over 10 months left until the big day! Anyone understand what I am going through that could offer some advice?

It took my now-DH FOUR YEARS to get divorced. :sad2: It was very ugly, with four children, a house and lots of assets involved. Plus she was a real..I can't say the word here, but you know what I mean. She did everything she could to delay, drag it out, and annoy him in any way she could. Heck, she still does!

But anyway, all I can say is try to be patient. Some day it will all be worth it.

Oh and also, can your bf talk to his attorney to see if there is anything that can be done to force her hand, so to speak?

I feel sorry for you, sweetie. I know first hand how frustrating it can be.

I to know how frustrating it can be. It took my DH 4 years from when he moved out to make his divorce official. She used every excuse there was. With 4 kids and assets it was tough even when he gave her just about everything. Unfortunately it never ends but we make the best of it and I just ignore her.

Good luck with getting things moved along!

We didn't marry the same guy, did we??? :earseek:

I didn't go through this personally but my future sister-in-law just got married a couple of weeks ago and had some headaches from her now husband's ex. He has a six year old daughter with his ex and the poor girl is constantly being told nasty things by her nasty mother about her father and his new wife (my future sister in law). The only good thing is little DD is such a smart girl, she sees things how they really are, not how her mother tells her to see them. Some people are just so miserable they have to make everyone around them miserable too. Not sure if it's possible but can your future hubby get a divorce from the Dominican Republic or a country that gives quicky divorces? I'm sure the issue goes much deeper but it's the only thought I have. Sorry!

His ex is miss drama queen, and a princess. She is an unreasonable, self centered, money hungry, lying *%$#*^. If you know what I mean. My DH has already been through so much because of her. He's had to file for Bankruptcy because they once owned a business together and he went to go legally close the business and found out that she failed to pay source deductions or any type of corporate tax for the last 6 years. So he (well they) have like $65,000.00 owing to the government, and she decided to not pay any suppliers, so there is about $40,000.00 owing to them. So because of all of her lies and stupidity he has been forced to go bankrupt. We are both now working two jobs to help save for the wedding plus pay for all these stupid things that have been caused because of her. She just had a hysterectomy almost two weeks ago now, and that is her current excuse for not signing the papers. She claims that she can barely make it through a sentence without gasping for air because she is in so much pain, how can she possibly sign any papers!!! I'm just worried as too how long she will drag things out, because she has always got an excuse. The thing I don't understand is that she is living with someone, works for his parents (they own a Nissan Dealership) and she seems happy with her life, so why must she dick around with ours? :hourglass

Anyways, thanks guys for lifting my moral somewhat!

I'm so sorry you guys have to go through so much just to START your life together. :guilty: I believe in karma so what goes around comes around. Miserable people end up miserable in the long run whereas this may end up bringing you and your DFH closer together. My thoughts are with you and I truly believe you will have your happy ending in the long run! :flower:
