For me personally, I’m not freaked out about the crowds, and a lot of the posts I’ve seen are from people that seemed okay with the way things were being handled. I think as long as Disney keeps on top of the mask situation, which they seem inclined to do, safety will be good. The only thing that could stop me from going on my trip at the end of the month is if the masks go away. I think Disney is probably working on opening more restaurants and shows, and I’m assuming they’re going slowly and ensuring that all the CMs (and any unions involved) feel safe returning to workReading this thread makes me sad. We were thinking of going Thanksgiving week but if Disney is not keeping a good handle on safety (crowds) we may not pull the trigger. Do you think Disney is concerned with the crowds and concerned about the negative publicity?
Disney has a good handle on safety. The crowd dilemma comes from social distancing. If the queues did not need social distancing they wouldn't spill onto the streets and if rides didn't need social distancing they could operate at full capacity and wait times would be shorter.Reading this thread makes me sad. please read my almost daily reminders of keeping this thread on topici don't understand why my posts on here keep getting deleted. especially the one where i was merely quoting the governor, giving him credit for the quote, which was directly from cdc data as he said. there was nothing additional on there at all. if people don't know information, how can they discern risk or lack thereof/
i wasn't saying anything for or against the governor, merely quoting the data that he was quoting, which is official from the cdc. i realize disney and probably every other company will always be at least 10 times stricter than they're required to be due to their perception of how the general public feels. whether or not that's correct or continues to be correct in the future will eventually be apparent by the public's behavior. but nothing can ever change if people are continually kept ignorantplease read my almost daily reminders of keeping this thread on topic
discussion of the virus, numbers, what the governor is doing is not on topic. Disney is a private company and can and does implement their own safety procedures, that you can discuss. To discuss the virus you can head to the community board
Each time someone mentions covid or the governor it tends to go downhill quickly, aside from the fact that discussing politics is against DIS guidelines

Disney has never disclosed numbers of any kind, even pre covid, that's nothing newMy thoughts on why we are thinking of bailing on Thanksgiving week is that Disney was enticing everyone with low hotel room rates because the crowds were low to compensate for the mask wearing, lack of park hopping, fast passes, shows, restaurant availability ect. There has to be some positive in order to put up with the negative. Universal does post their capacity of 25% during the week and 50% on the weekends. Disney is keeping it a secret.
I believe we will see park hopping return before fp. Also word is that Indiana Jones cast will begin rehearsals soon, so with the reopening of shows that will help spread out the crowdsI am hoping for Fastpass and Park Hopping in January. Also hoping they open up the restaurants more. I would totally be willing to get an order to go and eat in my room or outside.
This is my thought and why our family has booked for November. Without FP+ the lines hopefully will consistently move and the lines though long will not take nearly as much time. As my wife says it will be old school Disney, where you aren’t crisscrossing across a park multiple times a day to make FP+ times and ADR’s. Hopefully this will reduce a little structure and allow a little more spontaneity especially for my twin 11 year olds. Now we can eat when ready and hungryIt’s not really just standing in line. Without FP+ the lines move constantly. The only time you’re standing still in line is if you’re in line during a cleaning. In 3 hours yesterday at MK, I walked 6 miles!

After covid they should release capacity explanations because there IS covid and those coming should have some sort of idea what they are paying for (risk/reward)Disney has never disclosed numbers of any kind, even pre covid, that's nothing new
Also Disney was enticing everyone with low rate rooms because they needed to fill rooms, not to compensate for anything
People need to understand what the parks feel like and look like now and decide for themselves if it seems like a vacation you'll enjoy, like ive said many times, clear and realistic expectations have to come before anything else, you can have a good time but have to come with the right frame of mind
that's a good question. I would think that they will cause they whole point is to know, in advance how many people are visiting parks. What I see happening is after you tap into your first park you can make a reservation for another one for the same day. That way they know how many people will be visiting the 2nd parkIf and when hopping returns, do you think that’ll be by park reservation also?
Disney should do many things but none of us here can make them do itAfter covid they should release capacity explanations because there IS covid and those coming should have some sort of idea what they are paying for (risk/reward)
I just feel that a "frame of mind" isn't enough to compensation for what you are not getting for the same price of a ticket. All things to consider going forward. The increase in crowds becomes a gamechanger that a "frame of mind" may not overcome. Especially when a potential vacation could cost $5,000

As far as cost of your vacation and what you get in return, again that is a family by family decision. Some might say that spending xxx amount is fine to come and enjoy the parks even with longer standby lines. Some might say same amount is not worth it.
What I'm saying is IF you decide you want to come, come with realistic expectations and know what you are getting into
Again I visit the parks 3 times a week and can tell you rope drop and last hour continue to be crucial. Over on the SWGE sub forum someone reported being at DHS before 9am, they were able to do MMRR, ToT before 10am and get a bg, it is possible to do most headliners it just needs some planning
Star Wars Galaxys Edge subforum right here on this boardWhat about the evenings? Does everyone just go to bed early? Not being sarcastic but what are those expections? We would love to come Thanksgiving week but am getting a little spooked. What is the SWGE sub forum? Thanks for the help! We are planning on using our DVC points
