Anyone else avoiding EMHs?

Our experience has been pretty standard. Sometimes we do am. emh and it is wonderful for that hour, and the second hour. From the third hour on, crowds are relatively heavy. Last year, we did only one am. emh, it was at MK. Great until 10:30, when we had CP ADR's. After that, it was getting so crowded we hopped to AK, which was less crowded. Never done pm emh, as we have little ones. Also, getting to each park at or before opening is mandatory for us.

I've always felt that it's so illogical that am. emh parks are so much more crowded. Clearly, not that many people actually make it there early enough, because during that hour it's completely uncrowded. As most here have said, if you aren't taking advantage of emh, you should avoid that park. Even though I obsessively plan our park day schedule ahead of time, if we plan to do emh and for some reason get up too late to get there on time, We would just go to another park, to avoid crowds. If people are off-site it would certainly make sense for them to avoid emh parks at all cost.
When I say this to my Dh, he reminds me that some people don't plan like we do, and just go to whatever park they feel like, without a schedule. This is true, but it doesn't seem like it would take that many emh avoiders to balance out the small number of people who take advantage of am. emh.

Evening EMH parks would logically be more crowded, especially now that many people don't have hoppers. It doesn't require getting up early, and day guests don't actually have to leave.

I think it depends on the time. With free dining last week, we avoided it because we were aware of the fact that everyone was pretty much staying at the Disney resorts. Not to mention, Orlando school kids started two weeks ago so we knew that the Orlando residents wouldn't be going. I'm so glad we did. The buses for extra magic hour mornings were horrendous. Like AK. I have a feeling that everyone thought it'd be better going to the early morning extra magic hours but it didnt work because basically every resort guest was thinking the same thing.

We avoid the night extra hours but that's b/c we go during very crowded times- always eitehr the week before or the week of Christmas. We are fully aware that people tend to go the parks with late extra magic hours because people tend to like to stay up later in comparison to waking up early. I hope this makes sense.

We avoid Evening EMHs like the plague. We went once, and never again! I miss the old E-Ride Nights, when you had to pay extra... MUCH fewer people around.

We occasionally do a Morning EMH, because the park is always nice and empty.

Yup, I totally agree. It's much harder to "wake up" then it is to "stay up." I was amazed at how many small children are at the 12AM-3AM EMHs. :confused3
