Ok, venting here, but feeling cheated now! first they removed my beloved jacuzzi tub from BCV (one, but not only reason we bought into DVC), but now I see new villas at copper creek have bubblers too like GFV! What gives? Why are we not worthy of these? I pay my dues just like other DVC members and we should have comparable facilities ! I could see if we din't have them before, or if only the flag ship resort got bubblers, but since BCV is newly remodeled no reason for this slight! Sorry just needed to vent! PS I know Poly doesn't have them either, but they have the split bath and people buying in knew the set up when they bought in !

The remodeled rooms is one reason I just sold both our BCV contracts. I know I need to fix my signature to remove the BCV. It was nice before they "fixed" it.

That would definitely be a disappointment for you, and I can understand your frustration.

We stayed at VGF and I hated the bubble tub because it cycled through whatever it does to shoot any leftover water out after cleaning/using. This happened while I was trying to sleep, either at night or in the am, or both, since it happened twice, and we never used the thing!

What is it about the remodel that you do not like? I will be at BCV in sept and the last time I was there was before the remodel.

I think it was a maintenance cleaning issue. I heard of cases of celulitis from the type of jets they had. But I am sorry for your dissapointment. I feel the same now I have to request a DVD player at some resorts.

It's just impossible to please everyone, I understand disappointment, I have some. I've made lists with labels like acceptable, not, to help determine my actions.

I would like them to leave the units with the same theme and furnishings that we purchased. I sold because BCV no longer has any beach theme, it looks just like all the newly updated resorts. As one posted, they could be any downtown Dallas condo. Disney has always been know for the great theming, why did they go so generic?

That disappoints me. I've always loved Disney theming so it is sad to hear they are going "generic" with room decor.

I agree! Other than the pictures on the walls it feels the only difference between the different hotels anymore is the location. Once inside the room, it's hard to tell which resort you're at. I fell I need love with Disney for the great theming. I can stay on site at the Double Tree MUCH cheaper if I want a generic suite room.

That is true. With the timeshare though, IMO, I think they ought to leave the room amenities similar when doing refurbs as when people bought they knew what they were getting and that either influenced them to buy at a location or at the very least the people buying knew what they were getting and shouldn't have expected a change.

For new resorts - do whatever because buyers there will know what they are buying.

Could not agree more. Not to mention, Disney owns the hotels, they do not own the Villas. Now I am sure that there is fine print in there, and they are doing things legally, but one would think they would have to go through the association or something along those lines.

When I pay cash for a room, my decision is based, in part, on the room as it is AT THAT TIME. Not how it was 5 years ago. If they change the rooms at Resort X, and I do not like the theme to the point that it makes the resort on a whole lose its appeal to me, so be it, I have others to choose from.

My (ex)DGF once said it looks like a handkerchief exploded (referring to the room at Boulder Creek), and that is a big part of why I liked it (and bought there)

Just back from staying at BCV last week. We don't use a Jacuzzi or soaker tub - so no issue for us. And as far as the lack of theme in the room (which IMO is definitely missing) as long as the room is clean we're happy so this change didn't bother us either. The beach theme is still there by SAB and the quick walk to Epcot is still there so we're contented but I agree that things should be left as close as possible to what the original theme was as that's what people bought into.

OP, I think you were asking if CCV are getting the bubble tubs why didn't BCV get them with the refurb. I think the answer lies in the fact that CCV contracts will be up for sale and that is a selling point for some people. It is a different situation with BCV in that DVC is not courting buyers for that resort.

I agree with you that it stinks. Whether a person uses the tub or not, (we never have) the special tub was part of the rooms when contracts were purchased. I think it is wrong to take them out and not replace them with jacuzzi or bubble tubs.

I agree not being sold, BUT when it was sold to US one of the special features WAS the jacuzzi tub ( which was a luxury item in other hotels) . In addition, NO other DVC INCLUDING BWV and the former VWL had these tubs removed during updating. I would have been ok with bubbler...if they put them in gfv and the new part of wL they could have put them in ours instead of making us the only dvc with this downgrade! PS ALL one bedroom and up dvcs have a walk in shower in addition to the tub. As I said, I would not be grumbling if this hadn't been important to us and a FIXTURE not decoration at time of purchase (or if we were not singled out to have the downgrade!) Again just venting as I know people 's opinions differ and Disney could care less whether I am happy now or not... they have my money already!
