I was doing great! Every gift purchased wayyyyy ahead of time. I have everything stored in my closet and had planned to wrap all gifts on Tuesday - my only day off during Chirstmas week. Well, I ended up getting sick on Monday with the respiratory infection thats going around. On Tuesday I spiked a high fever and ended up getting the stomach bug, too. I called into work on Wednesday. (For reference - I have never called in to this job in the 18+ months I've been there.) So, here it is Thursday...I'm at work until 6pm. I still feel like crap. I won't make it home until after 7pm. I have to work tomorrow from 9-5 and again from 11pm until 7am Christmas morning.

So....I guess I'm going to have to scrap together the energy to wrap tonight when I get home from work. Otherwise, DH might be unwrapping his gifts from the shipping boxes they came in. :rotfl:

Anyone else in the same boat?

We got it all done last night. I keep saying that I am going to get it done earlier than a few days before because several years ago my Grandfather passed away right before Christmas and I flew out for the funeral. That left DH with a closet full of stuff that had to be sorted and wrapped because I wasn't getting back until late on Christmas Eve. We had a few testy moments over the phone as he was stressed from all the responsibility and I was stressed from the funeral, as I tried to explain what needed to be done. We got through it fine, but I keep saying I have got to stop leaving it for the last minute! One of these days. . .

ME!!!! I'm panicking!!!

Between the kids being home sick and me getting sick, I have exactly 2 gifts wrapped! Which took me 30 minutes to do because I have zero energy.

I'm going to have to send the kids next door to my mom's and try to finish.

DH is still shopping so I have bags on hand for him.

Feel Better  and yes; I too was way ahead of everything~ and now I'm having a pity party today. I still need to wrap everything and clean the house and cook a ginormous meal tomorrow eve and rebake some cookies~ and right this minute I wish I could blink myself to Sunday

But here I sit Dis'ing :rotfl2:

Don't worry you'll get it done :wizard:

I have nothing wrapped! I'll be heading out to the camper w/a lot of wine to wrap in about 5 hours!

Something kept coming up, too. First I was sick, then hubby needed another ext cord for the camper. then he said "oh you wanted to go out there tonight' last night furnace broke. I have to do it today!! No way I can do it tomorrow, we have to head out and I refuse to do it at midnightish when we get home.

That is why I like buying the printed boxes. Slap a gift in the box, wrap a ribbon around it, slap on a tag and called it wrapped! ;)

But yes, I still have a few gifts to wrap and then the Santa ones with the special paper.

I'm DIS'ing because DD has decided she's like cling wrap today and is hovering over me. I have to leave in 20 minutes to go get the boys at all their schools then off to see the Dr at 4. Hopefully, keep my fingers crossed, DH will make dinner while I'm gone so we can eat and ship the kids next door.

Oh this would never happen in our house. My DH starts freaking out by the first weekend in December if we haven't set up the wrapping station in the RV (which we use to store everything). :goodvibes

I had one more box to wrap on Monday night and he freaked out because the present wouldn't fit into the box and I had to run to Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart is less than a mile from my home. I was back, re-packaged and wrapped in under an hour. He was like "I can't believe you wait for everything until the last minute." I just gave him an eye roll and ignored him. :rotfl2:

Feel better OP. And do what my DMom always does. Buy really big gift bags, reams of tissue paper, shove everything in a bag and stuff tissue on top (she doesn't even individually wrap the things in tissue). :lmao: :thumbsup2

Well, I got all the wrapping done but my house is a wreck, nothing is prepared (food wise) and I have 24 people coming for dinner in uh lets see.....30 hours - I guess if I don't sleep I will get it all done.

OP feel better!

75% of my stuff is wrapped. My little boy, I, and my husband all have the flu, so I'm miserable and working at 1/5 of my usual speed. I ordered almost all gifts online and wrapped them as they came in. That helped tremendously!

I'm so thankful. Usually I'm up late on Christmas Even finishing up my wrapping. Not this year!

My arm just came out of a cast due to a work comp injury so I can still barely move it! Tried wrapping last night and that wasn't working so told the kids today they are wrapping each others gifts! Hopefully it will get done!

I am no where near finished wrapping yet! and yes, I am starting to panic. They should release us from work around 2 this afternoon but I still need to wrap 75% of our gifts, clean house and be ready to host Christmas Eve dinner for DH's side of the family tomorrow night.

I was reading another thread about flavored vodkas so I'm thinking I need to stop at the liquor store on the way home to have a few adult beverages as I wrap all night.....lol.

Funny this thread should appear, moments ago I was thinking that I should be in there wrapping, but I honestly do not feel like it, I wish I had picked up tissue paper and bags now :rotfl:

I am not in a panic there is still tomorrow

I do not have many to wrap I cut way back this year on gifts but it is just getting started :rolleyes1

I had the perfect opportunity yesterday to finish wrapping - still tons to do... and I ran out of tape :headache:

I didn't want to run clear into town (we live in the country) so I'll be making the trek into town today and trying to find a time to finish - which needs to be tonight. Oh and I just found out I have 2 more kids to buy for - so I'm definitely back out to the madhouse today

I have 8 gifts to finish wrapping and I am freaking out - I would hate to see myself if I only had 8 of them done. I am really hoping that DH got motivated and wrapped the gifts that aren't for the kids today, while I am here are work, so the only 3 I have to do are the last of the kids.

Thanks for the reminder! I have everything wrapped except my boys' gifts since they were hanging around the table yesterday. I think I'll sneak a few of theirs downstairs while they're still in bed (it's 10:15 a.m. here - teens and pre-teens need their sleep!). But the minute they hear paper rustling, I'm sure they'll leap out of bed!

We haven't started yet. Ds's are going out tonight so we planned to do it tonight. Tomorrow we have to cook and go up to see my family. I just need to send ds's out to the movies to get some movie gc's.

Off to finish decorating the tree. We did our grocery shoppin yesterday.

My 12 y.o. keeps asking why there isn't much under the tree?
I keep singing the "Welcome Christmas" song from the Grinch
about how Christmas is in our heart.
She's not going for it

Seriously -I haven't had time to wrap yet
I am hoping to get it done tomorrow

I need to revise this post.

PANIC HAS SET IN!!!!

We just found out that my SIL, has made the grand decision to SUPRISE everybody and come into town. YEA!!!!

BUT, I really don't think it would be a warm and fuzzy Christmas, if at the family gift exchange both her ExDH and his girlfriend got gifts from us and she didn't get anything. They all get along, so it's not an issue that they are all there. But after 4 years of them dating we found something we thought the girlfriend would really like so we made the decision to get it for her. I will feel really bad by having no gift for my SIL. So, before we go meet for dinner tonight - birthday celebrations - I have to venture to the mall and find her something.

And I went past the mall around 11 this morning and it was already a mad house. UCK!!!!!!!!! As crazy as it was then, I hate to see it tonight. I am going to have DH drop me off at the door since I know what store I am going to, so he can just circle the parking lot while I am in there.

I really didn't need this added to my list of things to do.

Oh my goodness...tape! I don't think we have any in the house. Thanks so much for that reminder. At least now I can stop and pick some up on my way home.

I'm starting to get my second wind. If this can last until 9 or 10 pm, I'll be great.
