anyone eat at Ohana dinner with peanut allergies?

My DS has a severe peanut allergy and I see there is peanut dippin sauce. Is anything else there peanutty? Anyone have experience with dining there WITH a peanut allergy?

I am also interested in any info. I heard that the noodles contain some kind of peanut something or other. We will be there in Sept. and my 4 yr. old nephew has a severe peanut allergy.

I don't have experience with eating at 'Ohana but I have two children with severe peanut allergies and simply because of their peanut sauce/peanuttiness, I wouldn't even consider it. It seems much too risky to me and too many things that can't be controlled. I would love to try 'Ohana, but I just can't see doing that with what is on the menu. I hope you have better luck. And maybe there isn't much with peanuts. Either way, chefs cater to allergies, I just don't think you could control the environment when it is everywhere, ya know? They will let you order from the Kona childrens menu. Our DD had a cheeseburger, how exciting, but she loved it and got to experience all the fun of Ohana. We asked them not to bring the peanut dipping sauce and we had no issues. This was one of our favorites and the chef was very accomodating.

I am going to refer you to a thread I started recently. I have decided that for my family it will be a good idea to go. Depending on the severity of the allergy, you will need to make up your own mind.

Took my girl scout troop there last spring break. Older girls ages 14-16. One of the girls was allergic to peanuts. We informed the waitress and she bought out the chef...he tells us what she can and cannot have. He evens says, if there is something not on the menu at Ohana that she wanted...he would cook it for her. Talk about great personal service!!!!

However, she was the type that was allergic to peanuts if she ate it and not by just being around peanuts. So depends on how sensitive the allergies are.
