Anyone Drive A Saturn Ion Sedan?

We're going to buy one within the next several months, or sooner if dh's car "dies" before then.

We drive a 97 Saturn sedan now, and we love it. The Ion is an improved version of what we have, plus the trunk is a little bigger. We're keeping our old Saturn. We'll have 2 Saturns.

Did you test drive one yet? It's kind of weird in that all of the controls are in the center of the dashboard.

I did test drive a 2006 (it's a used one) and it was nice but yes, weird about the controls! The trunk is HUGE on that thing too! I think it's cute and roomy enough for DS and I. The insurance is really low too. The only problem I'm having is finding one with power windows and in the color polar white, weird right! :confused3

all the white ones must be in ohio than since thats all i ever seem to see around here. i love my saturn and will be buying another this spring.

DH has a Saturn ION 2 sedan, a 2003. He likes it fine. The only things that bug him about it is the lack of a center armrest/storage bin (he doesn't really have a good place to put his CDs) and on long trips, the driver's seat gets uncomfortable to him.

For the $$, though, it is a great little car.

I agree about the lack of center storage space. The old Saturns had that and I personally think it was taken away to save on manufacturing costs. That's a big thing for me. It does get good gas mileage.

I have a '98 Saturn SL2, which is now the ION. I love it, runs great after all these years, great gas mileage, and cheap insurance. If I wasn't planning on buying my parents current car when they are ready to get a new car, I'd buy another Saturn in a minute!

My mother-in-law has a Saturn Ion and loves it.

Are we related? My MIL has one too. She bought one to replace her aging 1994 Saturn sedan. She likes it better than her older Saturn. I suppose that's because her Ion has all the bells and whistles and her 1994 had very few options.

DH just bought a 2006 Saturn Ion. He bought it to drive to work and back, a 120 mile round trip. So far he is getting about 35 miles to the gallon. Much better then his van. I was not so keen on him getting a Saturn. My brother had one of the first Saturns and I hated it. But the Ion is a lot more comfortable then that one. It is not a very big car, but it is not as small as I thought it was going to be. My DH is 6'4 and he says it has more head room then his van. And the trunk is very large for how small the car is.
