Hi
When we visit in June, MK's evening EMH will be from midnight til 3 a.m. I have a teenager who can sleep late and stay up really late so he is excited about this. (Wish we could keep up with him ;) )

Has anyone done a very late EMH at MK like this? What was your experience? How were the crowds, was it worth it?
Thanks

We did this last May and it was WONDERFUL!!! Parks cleared out and we just walked on Space Mountain, HM, Pooh, and Peter Pan. SO cool not to have to wait in line. I don't remember what time we came stumbling out of MK, but I know it was after 1:30am or so--and the park was open another 1 1/2 hours!!!! We were tired but SO happy!! No wait for the resort bus either--no lines!!! We're planning on doing it again this year!

ETA: There's NOTHING like being in HM at midnight!!! I didn't really think it would be any different--its dark in there anyway, so what difference does it make if its dark outside?? Well, I still can't answer that--but it WAS different--CREEPIER!!! FUN FUN FUN!!! :hmghost: :hmghost: :hmghost:

EMH is Extra Magic Hours. The parks are open either early or late for guests who stay at Disney hotels. It's not every park every day, there is a schedule.

Hi there,

We have stayed at the MK till 3am for EMH. We found the crowds in the first 1 to 1 1/2 hours quite busy, this was a few weeks ago at Easter time. Our advice is to arrive just before the last parade/wishes and stay near the BTM or SM then start the tour in a clockward fashion from there.

"3AM Night" as it is called in my house was an absolute highlight of 12+ trips (better than Wishes & Illuminations Cruise, GG's and more).

As others said, it is a little crowded at the beginning but from 2-3 we felt like the only people in the park...,walk right on to anything. I will also say, that we had the best conversations with ride CMs and I could believe their energy level.

At 3am, the characters all gathered in front of the castle for pics. We didn't leave until closer to 3:45am

It's a must not miss for us

Hi Monkey Guy
I'm afraid I don't know how to post links but if you go to Disneys website and click on park hours, each calendar for each park will show which days have EMH. If you click on one of the days, it brings up the list for all the parks for every month. It will tell you which days have EMH for which parks. It can vary.

Maybe someone with better posting skills can help us out. ;)

what is the schedule for the very late hours.
last Aug i think the latest they were open were midnight

Late EMH is an absolute must for us! We love it. Did it on Christmas Day this year and it was the absolute highlight of the trip. We are planning to do it again May 26! Anyone with us?

DD and I finally did EMH on the night before New Year's Eve. It was the best time we had our whole 10 days. Rode Buzz 4 times in a row as walk-on, Small World twice as walk-on, walked into PhilharMagic and Snow White and -- best of all -- pix with Mickey AND Minnie ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo in front of the castle at 2:30 am!!! We had forgotten her camera, and scrambled into the Emporium looking for a disposable (good thing they were open). Never made it across the park to Splash or HM because we were having such a good time.

We almost missed our breakfast at AK the next morning, but it was SO worth it. We're going again in August and first thing DD said was - when are the really late EMHs.

We'll be right there with you!!! Look for me carrying the Tinker Bell backpack with LIME GREEN ribbon on it. My mom and DS10 will be with me! If you see us, say hello!!!

This sounds promising so I think we'll try it, at least at MK. It will make my son so happy that he doesn't have to get up early every day.
Thanks all :sunny:

We did the late EMH on 4/23/06. It was great! We rode Splash Mountain three times in a row without getting off. People must have thought it was too cold, but we didn't get too wet and it really wasn't that cold (probably in the 70s with a little breeze). Everything else was a walk-on. We were exhausted by the time we left (even though we did take an afternoon nap to prepare), but it was definitely worth it!

Ok, I have a silly question. For the EMH's is it "3hours" across the board for the other parks, or do they only stay open for a shorter time period. If my post makes no sense just let me know and I will try and re-ask. Thanks ya'll. :thumbsup2

To the best of my knowledge, for evening EMH, all the parks will stay open 3 hours past the official closing. For morning EMH, all the parks open one hour early. Hope that helps!

The latest MK EMH my family has done was the one on December 30. We stayed until 4:00 a.m. and it was wonderful. It stayed pretty busy until about 2:00 (this emh started at 1:00 a.m.) and then it just got more and more deserted. We rode Space Mountain at 3:58 and all the cm's cheered us for our stamina! I also remember heading to Indy Speedway at about 3:00 and the cm working Snow White begging us to ride, he was lonely! I think the best plan for EMH at MK is to begin the evening in Frontierland and Adventureland and then do Tomorrowland and Fantasyland as it gets later and the little kids get tired. Splash Mountain in particular seems to be less crowed during evening EMH, I guess people don't want to get wet when its cooler!

Ok.. so if the park "closes" at 12am. and then they stay open til 3am.. How did you stay until 3:58? I would love to be up that late doing the rides and loving the park!! Do they usher you out at 3am? Do the CMs tell you its time to leave? Do they just stop running the rides? And is there a list of what rides are open in what parks for evening EMHs?

The park officially closed at 1:00 a.m. So EMH started at 1:00 and ran for three hours until 4:00. This was during the week in between Christmas and New Years, the most crowded week of the year. So all the parks had nice long hours and even the EMH nights were later than normal. Again, this was December 30th, I am not sure there is any other night that MK stays open until 4:00. But they were hoping that people would come to MK that night the 30th and not New Years Eve the next night. So this was pretty unusual. We loved it, we are night owls and wish it was always open that late!

Actually, I went last August and we were there until 2am for one of the EMH. There were characters in front of the castle when we were leaving, which was just after the 2am closing, and they had pretty long lines, so I think people stayed around even after that.
