I'd love to know if you and your family enjoyed it and found it worth the $$. We were thinking of doing this our last night at RPR, it will be late August, me, DH, DS7 and DD1. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

(Also, I don't eat pork and DH doesn't eat seafood...are there options for both of us at the luau)?

I've never been, but I found this:

Saturday nights year-round and Tuesday nights seasonally*

Menu
The menu features pit-roasted suckling pig, guava BBQ short ribs, daily catch from the Pacific waters, whole roasted South Pacific Wahoo, tropical fruits and desserts, plus special items for the kids.

Cost
$58** for adults, $32** for children 12 and under (plus tax) Price includes gratuity, non-alcoholic beverages, wine, beer, and Mai Tais!

We did the luau and our family totally enjoyed it. The seating was what I think is called Family Style (you sit with other guests). There was great food & entertainment. They even pulled people from the audience for different parts of the show and had them participate. We never felt rushed and the food was abundant and varied. They were also impecable at keeping the tables cleared and drinks filled. DH & I don't drink (alcohol), but it looked like they had endless pitchers of what I think were Mai-Tai's (sp?) which those around us seemed to enjoy immensely!!!:dance3:

DH is a vegetarian, DS(13) is a carnivore, DS(11) is a macaroni-atarian and I'm not picky, other than no fish/seafood. We all ended up finding lots of things we liked to eat. They also had a special "kids" buffet type table with mac-n-cheese, pizza, chicken, etc.

Oh yeah, there was also an amazing assortment of desserts that took up an entire table!!!

We've done the Luau twice now. My wife and I did our first Luau several years ago. At the time, the normal location was being refurbished and so they had the Luau on the lawn near their meeting rooms.

This past October, we did the Luau for the second time. We had 4 in our party as my parents were with us on this trip. We enjoyed it. Here's a few pictures of the Luau:

Great Pixs patster!!:thumbsup2

Thankyou!!!:thumbsup2

I have been looking for info on the Luau for awhile...great pics!

Thanks! Sorry about the bluriness of the pictures. We had just brought the camera the night before we left for Orlando and I didn't have time to test it out. In fact, after buying the camera, I had to return to the store for a replacement because the first camera was covered in metalic glitter.

We did it a few years ago, and enjoyed it, food was excellent and plenty to drink, although we found it quicker to go get our own when we wanted one.
Show was good , thinking of doing it again this year if there are any seats available when we are there in july.

Nice pics.. thanks for the info.. I don't think we'll be doing this for this trip.. I'm trying to maintain / lower my BF% and somehow I don't think attending this would help!!!

For the folks that have been to this, do you remember if there was a peanut dipping sauce like the luau at WDW? We've always avoided that luau because of my dd's peanut allergy, but if this one doesn't do the peanut sauce, it might be a possibility for us.

Cannot help about the sauce. But its not like Dineys SOA, there they bring your food to the table, at the RPR Laua, you go and serve yourself and take what you want, so if there is a peanut sauce, just avoid it.

Hi Robert, thank you for the information! This sounds like a fun thing to do and I can't wait to get there! :yay:

When we were at RPR in 2007 the luau performers did at little show around the pool area, it was pretty cool. Does anyone know if this still happens or was it just a random occurrence?
