Anyone done the DVC tour?

I wasn't sure whether to post here on on the DVC boards. I am not an owner but was wondering if anyone had taken the tour? We were going to this year but couldn't fit it in. Anyone know how long it takes and if they give you anything for going? Also how pushy are they

It took about 45 mins ( I think a little longer ,you need to include travel to and from the models at SSR)and they were not pushy at all, while we were there.Since coming back I have gotten mulitple emails,phone calls, and mailers inquiring if we are going to purchase.Sometimes they do give things out.We got free icecream, My sil got a $5o gift card ( but she purchased) and my neighbor who went in Dec 2007 got fastpasses.What you get depends on what they give you.

Well, it was really worth it for us. Took the tour approximately 4 years ago. We bought with the incentive of getting double points. Also received a $50 Disney GC and of course the free ice cream at the end of the tour. No pressure, really. Our guide was very informative and helpful. If you have a chance the next time you go check it out and see.

Hi, we took about 2 hours - they picked us up at the resort, looked after our children in the kids club, showed us the models and gave everyone free ice -cream. There was no pressure at all. We also got given gift certificates (1 each but can't remember how much!).

The tour will be tailored to the amount of time you can spare. You owe it to yourself not to rush though. This is a major purchase and a very long-term commitment. You'll find that this is a very low pressure presentation. Your guide will spend as much time as you want to spend explaining the way the program works and answering questions. There will be a tour of the model units so you can see what you'll be getting. There will not be any pressure to "buy today" or "let me talk to the manager" kind of stuff.

We bought in 1995 and haven't regretted it at all.

My wife and I did it a few years ago. No pressure and we got a card for FP ... 8 of them in all. It took us about 2 hours. We did not buy, but it was nice to tour the rooms.

Good to know. My DH and I were thinking of taking the tour i September. We cant affor to buy yet, but we want to find out if it's something we want to save up for.

I took the tour in April of '07, and liked what I saw. It was very low pressure, I had all of my questions answered, and when I told them that I would not be able to purchase for a few years, I didn't hear from my guide again except for one postcard thanking me for my time after I got home. We got free ice cream and $15 gift cards. They asked me how much time I had beforehand so my guide was able to fit the tour and ice cream into my schedule.

I ended up buying DVC last month after thinking about it for a while and playing with the numbers. I also spent some time at AKV on rented points, and really liked staying DVC better than staying in a regular room. I remembered my guides name from the tour (!) and called him up one day to buy DVC. The tour is worth while because you can get some good information on DVC and find out if it's right for you or not.

We took the tour and got FP's, which I find invaluable. I also bought at the time, at VWL, which was the offer back then. There have been some bumps along the road but I don't regret it at all.

we just did it a week and a half ago. it was very low pressure, we felt quite comfortable with the person who did ours. we didn't buy on the spot but we might within the next two years. we had ice cream and we got 9 fastpasses total (3 for each of us), and the fastpasses get you in instantly. Awesome for Soarin!

I think in April they offered us $50 gift cards for each adult and free ice cream...
