We're considering a trip next April while the kids are on Spring break. We generally do not vacation over Spring Break because everyone vacations over Spring Break. After looking at the point cost for April at HH I thought maybe it was not popular this time of year.

How are the crowds?

And more importantly how is the weather? We live in ga and April weather is very very nice for the most part.

We leave on Sunday (4/4) for HH for Spring Break. I saw the same thing you did about the points during Spring Break, however, because I tried to book only 2-1/2 months before, I had to get on a wait list. Lucky for me, all of my days came through. Based on weather.com and the forecasts we are seeing, it should be mid 70s during day dropping to mid 50s at night. Should make for some pleasant weather although I'm told the ocean will be too cold. Hope this helps. I'll let you know about the crowds when we get back.

We'll be there from 4/7 - 4/13- Looks like perfect weather to me (especially after our awful NY winter!!) Adam185- The water temp for the ocean will be about 68 degrees, believe it or not, we'll be swimming- thats about as warm as our ocean here on the eastern end of Long Island gets at the end of August!! My DS14 is a little dissapointed that there won't be any surfing waves tho!:(

Snowwitch, we'll let you know how everything is when we return!

We also live in GA and have been to HH many times for Spring Break. One year, it was in the 80s and you'd have thought it was the middle of the summer (except that the ocean was still a bit chilly!). Last year it was cold and rainy; many guests checked out early.

So, just as in GA, you never know what the weather will be, but if you check out some of the other activities at the resort and around the island, you can have a great time not matter what!

That water temp probably feels great to you New Yorkers, but for us Southerners (especially us who transplanted from South Florida), we prefer our ocean to be closer to bathwater temp. I'll stick to the pools. As far as rain, they are forecasting rain before we arrive and the day we leave, but we all know how good those forecasts can be.

Snow, I grew up vacationing in HH every April. I would say 90% of the time the weather was great (coming from NY) although the water can be cold. Of course that was before this global warming, I mean colding...lol.

We are thinking of going next year too, the week of 4/17 I think.
