Anyone done baby swap at RSR yet?

I was wondering if anyone had tried baby swap during the AP previews. DH and I will be in the parks with our 4 month old on the morning of the 16th and were wondering how baby swap worked at RSR. Can you do the single rider line and do baby swap? Or do we have to fast pass the ride?

We are thinking of using is when we go..
I understand that the 1st rider must wait in line and the 2nd rider will be sent through the Exit or FP line.. But with the FP line being soooooo long it would not be worth it..

Did they send you through the exit or the FP line?

You can't do Single rider, but you can do FP and get a rider swap. Or wait the regular queue.

Yes. None of the rides with a height requirement will allow the undersized child in the line.

The rule, which is stated on the card is the waiting person and 1 person. It has been that way through out the resort for the last 5 years. We have experienced on a few rides where we do rider swap with our service dog, that when we have my younger nieces with me, they allow them a second ride with me, but it isn't the norm.

With baby swap you will be given a pass that allows two guests to jump into the fast pass line to ride. You cannot skip ahead of the other fast pass guests though. Kids who do not meet the minimum height requirements cannot wait in line with the other guests.

I've been able to get two baby swap tickets when I've been with a larger group. For example, we went with two other families last year, and they would give us two tickets so the moms could all ride once, and then the dads, or any combination thereof.
One tip though: show up as a group to get the rider swap tickets. They often want to see the children so that it doesn't look like a group of adults who just want to get on the ride. But when we've gone as a group, they have always been accommodating (probably after seeing the giant gaggle of children we have in tow!).
I'd assume RSR would be the same, thought it does sound like the single rider line may be the best bet. Sounds like FP still has quite a wait.

We grab FP for the 3 adults

3 adults ride the ride through FP asking for a Swap at the front...
They have 35 min in the fass pass line..

Then they get off and the other 2 adults take the rider swap and enter through fass pass... Waiting another 35 min!!!
So what is the point of a swap pass? Why not just get a FP?

That does not seem right.. In WDW they let the other parent enter through the exit.. B/C they view it as if the parent would have been waiting in line if not for the child....

Does anyone else see the flaw?

Well there may not be fastpasses available. And I only recall going through the exit when there is not a fastpass line, but that could be a bad memory on my part.

I actually don't recall reading the card, but remember being told by cast members the "swapper" can return with up to 3 people. I certainly wouldn't have asked or pushed the issue...perhaps it is different on different rides? Or perhaps I have just run into generous cast members?

For those who have not done it before, more often than not I have seen square colored pieces of paper not these fancy ones!

At WDW I believe its good for 3 people. In Disneyland it is only good for 2. The passes look different than what you posted.

The first group either uses a FP or rides in the Stand by line. The SECOND group doesn't need a FP, just the child swap pass the CM will give them.

I totally agree with you. I am used to the WDW way of doing it, too, and was shocked this weekend when it was different at DLR. Really, it's kind of pointless (to me). The FP wait time was like 45-60 min most of the day - no way am I going to wait in that essentially twice (DH waiting once, me waiting another). We lucked out and happened upon a chance where the FP line was only like 20 min, so I was able to ride it. But I was prepared to skip it, for sure, b/c of the way in which they handle baby swap. Just not worth it!
