Anyone done a resort photopass session?

We did ours in Sept 07 ( I would post pcitures if I knew how) when we did they had just come out with it so it was free (we had to pre-purchase the CD $99 ??) we did the GF, DS was crabby that day-he was sick & went to the doctor right after it. I think that the pictures were nice- not great- just nice. I know that know they are like $75- and maybe even have to buy a CD-not sure. We may do them again (but only bc I want all of us in the pictures) I would do some where different next time- just since we did GF already .

Here's a link to a huge thread about this over on the Resort Photos board. There is a ton of pics/info here. Also, it has a sticky on the same board. We have our shoot planned for May at the GF and can't wait. The available location options are GF, WL, BC, AKL, and POLY.

We did it at the Poly in '08. We ended up with about 75 photos by the time I edited and cropped some. We were lucky enough to do it when it was $25 with the pre-purchased CD. We probably wouldn't have done it otherwise. I used the one of all four us here for our Christmas cards.

This was right after they started offering them at the WL, so it's possible they have different locations they shoot at now.

so to do these sessions you have to purchase the photopass right? i know that might be a silly question... I agree that these would be FABULOUS engagement photos!!! (There is a strong probability we wil be getting engaged on our trip so... )

I copied and and pasted this from another website. When we did it, it cost $25 for the session since we had pre-purchased the PhotoPass CD. They gave us all of our photos on a regular card like the photographers give you in the parks. We uploaded them the same way you do Photopass pics. As you can see, it's changed quite a bit since then. It could still be worth it to do for engagement photos or wedding....something like that. We won't do it again just for vacation with the new changes in prices.

Professional Portrait Service - You can have professional portraits taken of you and your family while you're at the Walt Disney World Resort. You'll have the beautiful resorts as your backdrop as they take dozens of photos. You need to make a reservation, so for more information or to schedule a portrait session, call 407-934-4004. Note: Starting September 1, 2008: resort portrait sessions and park Photopass photos are separate products. Portrait photos will not show on your PhotoPass ID, unless you have made your resort reservation before September 1st, 2008; if you have made the reservation, you can get your photos combined under the one ID account. Changes to CD products include:

Pre-order or buy the PhotoCD in the parks: receipts will get you a Portraits reservation for $74.95
Portraits session photos only on CD: $149.95
PhotoCD combining Portraits and parks photos (done at resort locations; PhotoPass enhancements not available): $49.95. This is the fee for combining the photos, not for the CD.

I just made a phone call to the portrait people through the number listed in the post above and prices have DROPPED . We are looking at only doing the portrait session and not purchasing photopass and including the CD and an image package it is ony $100. WIth the photopass i believe she said it is right around $200 but was so excited at the $50 drop in price i kinda zoned for a second . Like mentioned before, i think this is not a bad price for engagement, bday, first-trip (2, maybe 3 of which we will be celebrating) or anniversary photos.
