Anyone ever add the wine and dine?
What was it like and will they have it for 2009?
Not that I want or need a bottle of wine everynight
But just wanted to know if anyone did it and was it worth did it include a dining plan or do you you add a dining plan on to it
Thanks

You add it on to a dining plan. You can't just get the wine package without the DDP or DxDDP.

We decided against it for our last trip because we seldom order a whole bottle. It just doesn't fit our style, because we prefer to sample a couple different varieties, enjoy wine pairings to go with specific dishes, sometimes order beer or a cocktail, etc.

I haven't seen any reports of someone using it. Have you, Colleen? We didn't add it to our stays this year either. Even though we do sometimes order by the bottle, I don't want to be constrained to do so. In addition, the DDE already provides us as good as discount as it appeared possible with the wine add on without the constraints.

I think I've only seen one or two reports from people who have used it, and I don't even know if it was on the DIS or elsewhere. From looking over the wine lists, I wasn't thrilled with the selections that were included on the plan either, but now I don't remember exactly what it was that gave me that impression... Maybe the list at Artist Point?

I don't remember the wine list at AP specifically but most places most of the wines were included....just not the very expensive ones. But the price point when you hit two credits seemed to be around $53 or &54 ...my husband watched it at various restaurants and that was his conclusion. And if you prefer a bottle that costs $35, you lose money on the deal.

There's not much worse than picking a bottle of wine to make sure you don't lose money....yuck!

Come to think of it, I think that was my issue with it too. The selections we liked weren't anywhere near expensive enough to make the plan worth it. I think on the bottle we ordered from room service, we would have needed 2 credits for a $40-something bottle of wine. And at AP it was probably that none of the (expensive!) ice wines were included, since I had an ice wine sampler with our dinner there.

The samplers are more fun anyway. And it's nice to have things paired well with wine flights.

Thanks! We won't be doing but I couldn't find anything on it.
Its not worth it for us either.
