Anyone do the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience?

Hi there! So I asked this last year (when it was still fairly new) and had planned to do it last Christmas time, but two days into our trip my daughter got a crazy 24 hour flu and so we stayed out of the parks (so as not to pass the bug on) and in the hotel room for 2 days of our trip (one of which was supposed to be doing this, so I had to cancel the reservation and of course there were none at that late of notice to add once we got back to the parks). So, going to ask again, any recent experiences doing the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge? My kids were excited to play the games and hang out and eat and people watch and (hopefully) watch the fireworks. Any thoughts? Do you recommend it or not? Thanks so much. Fingers crossed we actually get to go this year!

We did this last year, my husband, myself and our four boys ages 13-21. It was nice to sit and relax, got a bit boring for the kids. Fireworks view is not the best but it is okay. The desserts are good, games are cool. The giant Connect Four was the best. Mickey came for photos and hung out for a while, which was nice. It's nice not to have to fight the crowd for a spot to watch the fireworks but I'd rather watch from Main Street. Don't think we would do it again, but it was alright for a one time event.

If you will be doing this for the games, desserts, and to meet Mickey -- that is one thing. If you will be doing this for the fireworks view, then it really isn't worth the money. If the fireworks get cancelled, you won't get a refund. You can get the same mediocre view of the fireworks for free from the Galactic Grill -- no view of the castle, no view of any projections, no view of Tinkerbell/Nemo/Zero/Anyone Who Flies, no view of any Main Street projections, etc. You can get a much better view of the fireworks and projections for free from Main Street or IASW.

We often visit with my parents and my dad has PTSD. It's important for us to find times and places to get out of crowded areas for him to have a chance to "breathe" a little. He wouldn't be able to handle watching fireworks in the crowds and navigating that situation so it was great for us. A good place to decompress but PP's are correct about the lack of projection visibility, etc. We had chip and dale visit while we were there but I think the characters change.

We did this last May, on a grad night, figuring it would be a nice relaxing way to skip out on some of the crowds. Unfortunately, it was just not worth it to me. I knew what it was going in to it...knowing the fireworks view wasn't great, but still thought it might be fun. Honestly, I just got bored. The food offerings were fine, and it got chilly, so they brought us blankets. But sitting on our little 'couch' huddled under a blanket just kind of got old. (To be fair, if it had been a warm evening, I may have felt differently; but I was so chilly up there where the wind was blowing that I didn't want to crawl out from under my blanket to play games or even roam around.) We ended up leaving an hour into it (thinking we'd return, since they DO offer in and out privileges) but we never did go back. It has been the one 'add-on' that I've ever done at Disney that I didn't enjoy. Oh well, we figured for $100 it kinda sucked (for us) but it wasn't a *bad* experience, just not something I'd really recommend. I'd rather use that money for a Fantasmic Blue Bayou dinner package, or just a nice sit down dinner at Carthay Circle.

WOW ok, thank you so much everyone. Sounds like it really hasn't gotten any better this last year, which is kinda sad as it has a lot of potential! I really appreciate all the responses.
