A?

What did you get instead? (B1 or B34 etc.)

I just did it, but if we don't get A it's a waste since my sons are 5 and 2 we could just board before B... I guess I should've asked before doing it...

:)

I've done it twice and we've been in the beginning of A both times.

Don't be surprised if you end up with like A20 or something around there. I think the low A's are reserved for the higher priced tickets (maybe business select).

Both times they let the people who needed special assistance on and then there was 1 or 2 people in front of us!

I worked out well for us, I hate Southwests boarding procedure, especially when the flight is full. Being able to get on and sit down right away and no we're all together makes me a lot less stressed!

On December 23 and January 2, which I assume were peak travel days, we got A passes within the first few spots available after the Business Select/Frequent Flyer places for STL to MCO and back.

On March 27, flying MCO to STL, we got in the low A30s.

I now have read two reports of EBCI customers getting B boarding passes. One at MDW, which is a big connection point for SWA, and one, I think, at BDL (which was a B1).

I had a friend who got B1 on a flight to Vegas in January. I don't think it's terribly common, though.

I've done EBCI I think 4 times now and I've never gotten higher than A21 or A22.

I have gotten the impression in the past that they don't issue A1-A15 unless you are flying business select or something like that. Does anyone know for sure? We've used early check-in for four flights now and I think a A24 was about the furthest back position we've ever gotten.

We had A mid 30s for our trip from Detroit to MCO on April 1, but I added early bird about 3 weeks out, not when we booked. We were A 25-29 from MCO back to Detroit, and it was a good thing because there were already passengers from Fort Myers who had moved up.
The amusing thing (for me) is when we had layovers in Nashville both ways--when the Nashville folks got off, people staying on scrambled to be closer to the front. We were close enough we didn't care and my 18 year old was asleep so we didn't bother going down--I can see wanting to hurry to ME. But on the way home, you're just rushing off the plane to wait for your luggage! What's the rush?

Business select or other fully refundable fares get A1-16....for sure. The only people that will board before that are unattended minors and those with some kind of medical issue.
Those EBCI people are 'checked in' in order of their purchase date. So..if you booked your flight, and paid for EBCI, back in Dec, for a flight in June, you are going to get a better boarding number than the person who booked the same flight and EBCI, but did it in April.

This would have been good to know back when I booked the flight, but I guess we'll probably be okay (since I just did it yesterday...).

Thanks for all the advice!

We plan on doing EBCI from MCO to PHL and I told DH we will not ask the people behind us if they did it or not. I will be very bummed if I find out I spent the $30 for the 3 of us and the person behind me didn't lol. I know it will happen to someone, but I don't want to know if it's me!

It's a piece of mind thing. I don't care if the person behind me did it or not.

I agree. I got EBCI for the return flight so that I don't have to be in our resort room or at the front desk or somewhere specific in the park to check in the day before we leave WDW. That's worth the $10 each to me. Vacation time is precious - we don't get all that much, LOL.

Me too. I know that I can checkin with SW via my phone, or at Guest Services or at my resort. But if I buy EBCI I don't have to think about it...they do it for me. Much more relaxing for me. And now that SW is participating in the RAC program at almost 100% of the resorts, it makes SW that much more appealing.
