Anyone do Hungry Bear Fantasmic Dining recently?

I am going for the day in a couple weeks and thinking about watching Fantasmic. Has anyone done the Hungry Bear package recently? I'm wondering if we should do that or just get a regular fast pass. I saw the show the week it first reopened and had Blue Bayou and at that time, the Hungry Bear people got to come in our area and sit behind us. I like the idea of being able to sit, but it's not really the most important thing. Is the food good? Are people able to sit or are they using the standing area off to the side?

From what I've read (and what I specifically like about the Hungry Bear option) is that if you don't like anything on the F! dining package, you can order from their regular menu (and pay the F! package price).

I bet they were not selling a lot of those meals. They sound terrible!

I did it recently. The food was pretty good actually. I really liked the salad. The area was one section closer to hungry near than the BB seating so not as right on center but it's own section. You can sit on the ground.

Has anyone recently had any luck swapping out the entrees for non-fantasmic items? There is nothing on the fantasmic menu that two of my kids would eat so I was wondering if they would let me get chicken nuggets of a hamburger instead.

We did it recently and had no problems swapping for a burger and fries instead of the meals they offered.

I totally agree. We're going to DL in March for a couple of days and I considered doing the Hungry Bear for a Fantasmic! package, but the Fantasmic! menu is just SO unappealing for all of us in our family. The salmon or chicken sound fine, but the sides? Bleh. My kids normally love ribs, but there's no way they will eat ribs that taste like blackberries. And the dessert just sounds gross.

Oh man-just looked and the sides look great! So nice to have a change from fries and a green salad. Anyone try them?

I thought the sides were really good. Not everyone in my party did. I think I ended up eating everyone's salad! The ribs are just fine. Definately not noticeable blackberry. I liked it specifically because it was different than typical park food.

I remember hearing people saying there was a chance you could get stuck standing in the Hungry Bear viewing area if it is too crowded. Has anyone actually experienced this? Like, has anyone been there when they made the whole section stand instead of sit during the show?

ps. i thought the sides sounded good since they're something different.
