Hi. I just got the New Disney Friends Snap Pack kit and a disney 7x7 album from Creative Memories. I was wondering if anyone on here had used this kit and pre done the autograph book. If so how did it work out and any advice you might have? I have taken a Creative Memories album before with places marked for each character to sign but I would love to have these predone and just need to slip in the pictures with the characters! Thanks for any feedback.

I just got done using the CM Disney Friends snap pack with the 7x7 album for our last trip. It turned out beautifully, and the kids love to look at it and talk about the trip. I didn't get my album until a while after our trip, so I just cut pages out of my daughter's autograph book and matted them on the page next to the picture of her with that character.

I think that it would be great to have the pages predone, but I would be nervous about taking one of my albums to the park. Afraid that it would get beat up being toted around on the rides etc...

I was going to do that, but I also was concerned about the album getting ruined at the park, plus I haven't yet figured out how many pages I'll need (depending on how many autographs/photos we get.)

Now I'm thinking I'll just cut up some paper to 4"x6" size and bring those for autographs, then assemble them into the album once we're home, along with the photos.

What I'm still trying to figure out is how best to present a 4x6 sheet for autographing. I was thinking of using small bits of temporary adhesive to stick paper to the autograph book pages. My other idea is to find a mini-clipboard. I think I've seen these at office supply stores, so that may be what I go with...unless someone has a better idea? :)

I took the cut pieces of paper and punched a hole in the corner. I think used a metal book ring to hold them together. I kept the bunch in a coupon holder. The stack of paper was enough support for the characters to sign on.

As for the book - I originally planned on using the 7x7, but ended up with too many pictures and autographs. I put multiple pictures of the characters (action shots of them signing) on the pages. I moved to the 12x12.

I was thinking of doing the same thing- last time I took the 7x7 CM albums (2 for both dd's) and it was kind of alot to lug and annoying to pull them in and out of our backpack so many times. They didn't get beat up at all though, and turned out so cute! I'm just not sure I want the same exact album (red with mickey ears) for this next trip. Thinking about a black 7x7, but not sure. I like your idea of using temporary adhesive to stick paper to an autograph book- do you mean one of the smaller ones they sell in the park? I was also thinking about the clipboard. Where do you get temporary adhesive?

Yes, I was concerned about fitting all autographs and photos into a 7x7 album. But I really want to do little albums for each of the boys, because I did an ABC 7x7 album for DS5 a few years ago, and he just loved it!

So I think I will wind up doing 2 7x7 albums of autographs and a picture of them with the character, and a 12x12 family vacation album that will include all the photos, and perhaps photocopies of the autographs if they're really cute. DS1 will be turning 2 during our stay, so I'm hoping we'll get some special messages.

Temporary adhesive: I don't typically use, but I've seen it (I think in a tape runner format) at Michael's or other craft stores.

And yes, I was thinking of using a Disney autograph book, though to be honest, I've never seen one and have no idea what size it is! I'm liking the clipboard idea best, I think, so will see if I can find that. Two, I guess, so that I don't have to be fumbling to swap out sheets of paper during a signing for the other child...

I am on my second autograph book for DD6. We started when CM offered the 5x7 size. My best friend is a CM consultant so I was able to buy several before they disappeared. :thumbsup2

We always just take the album with us. Or at least just the pages. I have the characters sign every other page so I am sure to leave room for the photo. I use a rubber band to "mark" the next page so when we see a character to meet we don't waste time fumbling through the book to find the right page.

Her first album dates back to her first visit to DL at 2. She still shows that book to everyone. Some of our signatures upsidedown but we love it.

I love the idea of pre-done pages. But I really enjoy doing the pages when we get back so I can add extra embellishments and stickers to highlight anything special that may have happened during the encounter.

Hi!
On our last trip I cut out different colors of scrapbook paper (acid/lignin free) and used CM adhesive to apply them to our original autograph book from the trip before (the kind Disney sells). I had the pages color coded (blues in one section, reds in the next, etc). The cut paper was about 4x6 I guess. I was able to use the color paper that went with the character and setting. I would just open the book to the color I wanted the character to sign on. Because its in an autograph book with a dense cover it was easier for the characters to sign as well. I also used scrapbook safe pens for the signatures. When I got home I was able to remove the papers and put them with the pictures that I wanted. While at the park I put the pens and book in a gallon size ziplock baggie, this kept it safe on water rides and the ocassional drizzle.
During one character breakfast, Minnie pointed to the book and shrugged her shoulders.. as if asking "why". I told her that when we get home her autograph is going into our scrapbook with her picture. She did her famous Minnie 'giggle". ::MinnieMo

I am completing my 7x7 autograph now. I do need to get a refill pack of pages and add some, because there are so many.

I bought a spiral bound pack of white index cards. If you can't find a pack with no lines, one side of each card does not have lines. We hand that side to the characters to sign, with a sharpie, it shows up so much better. Then when I get home I rip them out and use them on my page! The album is looking adorable if I do say so myself! :teeth:

On 7x7 pages, I generally have to do a double page spread for each character, one for the autograph and one for a picture or two.

Creative Memories just announced that they are coming out with a 12x12 Disney album (similar to the 7x7 one they've had for quite awhile.) I believe it will be available beginning in April.

Disneyfalcon, I too used blank index cards and a sharpie. I just need to put the book together for my daughter.

I have seen it! It is really cute. Right now the only way to get it is to have a show that totals atleast $400. I am hoping that they decide to just sell it soon enough. We're going to DL at the end of April and I really want to put our picts in there!

That's funny! A month or so ago my friend and I were just wishing for this! We were surprised they hadn't come out with one yet, and were joking to our CM consultant that she needed to push it to CM. :sunny:
