Anyone ? Discount at Residence Inn Marriott?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has gotten a better rate than the 135 pre-pay rate. My AAA discount ends up being 159.00- which is no good. And I checked they won't take the entertainment book coupon. Help - we stayed here last year but this year my sister is coming and needs something a little less. Open to suggestions. Hubby is a hotel snob and will not stay at a non- major chain.

When I stayed at the RI maingate I have always asked for the manager, told them I was a rewards member and that was that really the best rate they could offer. It has always worked for me, paid 149 for their penthouse suite which was going for 229. Just a thought.

You have to factor in that it includes a ginormous breakfast for everyone and take that off the room rate. It's not just cereal & milk. It's a full breakfast buffet. I put the value of breakfast at $12/adult & $8/kid including tax & tip. That should help w/ the numbers!

You could try Town Place Suites by Marriott. Its a little further away (you'd have to drive) but we get awesome deals there, like $98 for the 2 bedroom suites.

DH says that I'm a "Bed Snob", but I refused to stay at the Town Place! I made them switch out the mattress. Second mattress was just as horrible!!! OMG!!! Hard as a rock!!! I called corporate and told them they should rip off the Marriott sign out front! They love it when I do that! My personal favorite Marriott in the area is the Residence Inn Garden Grove.

When we stayed there they let us take some fruit for later too. It really is a great hotel. If we weren't dealing with a large party and a stroller this would be my pick for this trip.
