The reason I ask is I have a PS there for the last week in August and I know they are closing for refurbishment on Sep 1st.

Just wondering if anyone has eaten there lately? was the restaurant in decent condition? I could switch to Mama Melroses for that night - I am thinking by my PS date, the staff won't care anymore because they are closing and be all surly :p

Thanx

We had dinner there a few weeks ago. It used to be one of our "had to do places", but this time and the last time it just wasn't so great. The service was excellent, but the food, for the price, was just so, so. I think you may do better elsewhere for the buck.

We were there last week Friday for the Fantasmic! package (rained out)--it was very crowded and the service was a tad on the slow side, but it looked just fine and the food was really good...It was our main consolation for not getting to see Fantasmic!...

We ate there on July 21 and had a great meal. Four of us had the Fantasmic dining package and everyone enjoyed their meal. My oldest daughter particularly enjoyed the dish with Thai noodles and tofu. I had the Grilled Salmon. Everyones favorite dessert was the White Chocolate Raspberry Mousse.

we ate there last week, food was very good, so was service....

I have just made a PS for the Brown Derby in Mid September. Where did you find out it was being closed for refurbishement, and when is it supposed to reopen?

We ate there in mid-April and it was the best lunch I've EVER eaten at WDW! I was blown away!
When I recently read that the rest. is closing for refurbishment, I couldn't believe it. I specifically commented several times how immaculate, gorgeous and shiny new everything seemed. I wonder if it's just next on the list for Disney restaurants or if they're making changes or what.
Actually, I do remember thinking the leather couches in the waiting area were a little bit "off" but the rest of the restaurant seemed so sophisticated and first-class.

I called Disney Dining and confirmed that the Brown Derby at MGM Studios will be closed for rehab from Sept 14-20. Of course thats the week i'm visiting so I guess I'm out of luck. It may reopen on the 20th,which is the day I had my PS for, but probably not. It will definielty be open on the 21st

WELL, HERE WE GO AGAIN. I ONCE AGAIN CALLED BASED ON WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT IT BEING CLOSED SEPT 14 - 20, AND WAS TOLD OUR SEPT. 18 PRIORITY SEATING WAS JUST FINE AND THEY WOULD NOT BE CLOSED. IT'S HARD TO KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE!

Janie G.

I understand what you mean. Its all very confusing. I also e-mailed another Disney info site (wdwig.com) and they emailed me back saying that their sources also confirmed that it the Derby would be closed during the week of Sept 14-20. Maybe they are keeping a part of the restraunt open, while rehabing the other part. Who knows? I kept my old PS for the 20th, but made a new PS for the same day just in case. From what I've read that might not be a bad idea for you too.

:(

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. I'LL CALL TODAY AND DO THE SAME BUT I'LL STILL KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE DERBY.
