Anyone cruising May 8, 2004 Western?

I hate flying too...most of the time I would just make myself fall asleep before take off and with any luck I would be sleeping right up until landing time (I did that from NY to Ca once!) but this time I have my 4 year old with me and she made me promise not to fall asleep so I will be awake the whole time...I know my friend who is flying with me got something for her 14 year old to take before we go, Britt doesn't want to fly at all!

KC22 here, we have an informal meet planned for Saturday by the Mickey pool so the kids can meet. I have a DS age 7, Ryan, and there are at least 3 others in the same 6-7 age range that shouls be at the pool that afternoon (assuming no rain)..

Please stop by (I'll be in a PAPD hat and T-shirt). KC22

Thanks for the info!! I hope you meet you:D
My DS Nicholas (7) will be happy to know there is another 7 year old there!!:) -Debbie:sunny:

Hello fellow cruisers....just to let you know I work in a supermarket in Long Island, New York....and I promise you there are rude and obnoxious people all over the place....dealing with the public is sometimes a challange....anyway.....3 more working days....flying out early Saturday morning from JFK....and there will be no rude or obnoxious people on the cruise....just really happy folks!
See ya real soon.....

Let us all hope that there are no RUDE or OBNOXIOUS people on the boat, they do seem to be everywhere..

Meesh.. Statistically speaking, Air travel is still safer blah blah blah..

BEsides 3 hours of flying beats the heck out of 24 hours of driving.

take a game for you and you daughter and before you know it..

Dreamin Disney.. from Ill.. 7 year olds usually don't have a problem, it's the adults of the species that are the hard headed ones.. EXCEPT THE ONES ON THIS THREAD.. LOL KC

Ah yes, Tom, I remember, hopefully we will be on the same bus to the boat..and living in NJ, and working in NY for 15 years, I agree about the "PUBLIC", but it's the nature of the beast in the great northeast.. KC

KC, I think because we're taking him out of school for this, he's expecting few kids there which I did tell him there would be A LOT of kids there but of course Mom's (I) don't know anything according to a 7 year old:crazy:

And Yes, I agree.....Hopefully no RUDE or OBNOXIOUS people on the boat! :scared:
Just nice happy people only!!!! princess: -Debbie

taking ours out of school too, I was surprised that I heard that the boat was full to capacity..

Mother's day I guess.

The sons.. Steven age 6 CA
Ryan age 7 NJ
Nick age 7 from OH
and Nicholas from Ill

what a spread of the country..

and of course there are a few DD's that age too.

No rude people - I agree.

Your extended weather forecast brought to you by CAMICKEY (I'm only the messenger). BTW - We went to CA yesterday and were able to walk right onto TOT (Not suppose to open until the 5th but happened to notice people mulling around the entrance and decided to give it a shot). It seems better than the one at WDW but its been awhile since I rode that one. What a thrill ride!!! I guess you can say this is our "land portion" of our vacation. I'm not big on flying as well. My Dad and brother both passed away in aircraft accidents (not commercial airliners). I just try to grin and bear it and over the years I have gotten a little better. They really are safer than driving a car but it's just the thought that when driving, I have some control. So much to do - So little time. - Mike

Weather update - 30 % chance of possible Thunderstorms now in Key West

Port Canaveral - May 8th - Partly Cloudy - High of 83 Low of 65 - 10% chance of precipitation.

Key West - May 9th - Isolated T-Storms - High of 82 Low of 75 - 30% chance of precipitation

Day at Sea - May 10th

George Town, Cayman Islands - May 11th Scattered Thunderstorms - High of 88 Low of 77 - 50% chance of precipitation

Cozumel - May 12th - Partly Cloudy - High of 90 Low of 74 - 20% chance of precipitation.

Thanks to the Weather man from California..

let's hope it changes..for the better.

2.5 days of work and counting.

Mike - so sorry to hear that, I know firsthand what a shock that is. I have had a very similar situation in my life.

Thank you for the update, it doesn't seem too bad, the weathermen throw in a chance of rain so they can be right either way.

We will have sunny skies :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

2 more after 3 PM today for me..

UNless I take another day off!!!!!!!

Thanks Mike for the weather update. My husband had just sent
me the same info and I yelled at him (like he had control of the
weather, so I won't yell at you, LOL). Let's hope it gets better by
next week.

We leave tomorrow at about 6AM for the airport. We have been
planning and planning and planning. And guess what I'm still not
totally done planning. I'll probably be up all night - but I usually
am. I'm a 54 year old adult and the night before leaving for
WDW or a cruise (this is only the 2nd), I can't sleep. I'm like a
child at Christmas time.

I have woken up the last two mornings at 3:00 AM instead of my usual 4:15 AM. Seems strange - 48 yrs old and still getting excited about a vacation. Do we ever grow up? I HOPE NOT. - Will post another weather forecast tomorrow. If you have not started packing - Now is a good time. Can't wait to meet all of you. - Mike

KC - I just decided to take Thursday afternoon off as well. If we are pretty much packed, we are going to CA (California Adventure) for a couple of hours after Steven gets out of Kindergarten (11:30). He is really hyped now to meet Ryan and the other guys as well. It is going to be an awesome trip.

Bossladypu, I feel the same way about everything Disney. That is why I love these boards. We all understand each others addictions. There are not too many people I can talk to about Disney without them looking at me like I have two heads. And nobody understands why I would want to go on the Disneycruise without my kids. Little do they know what they are missing.

Safe travels to everyone in these next few days.
