Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of anyone planning a Wedding while the Disney Ship is in Port at Key West or Grand Cayman???? I have checked out some websites that say they do weddings for Cruise ship passengers while in port.

Key West would be Ideal because the ship in in port till 10:00pm and it is the beginning of the trip...So you would have the rest of the trip to celebrate your honeymoon???:bride:

Disney charges toooooo much and It would be the last day of the trip and at 10:00 am!! EEK!

I also saw Grand Cayman does the same thing??? Just wondering if anyone has doen this or knows someone who has???

Thanks:wave2:

I started dating this great guy in Feb last year!:p We have takin things very very slowly and really never saw each other more than once a month till about May and then we have beend dating ever since!:D

He is a huge Disney fan and is just wonderful to Josie and I. He went on the Disney cruise with us this past fall and we had a blast. We are going again this October and are going to book a 7 day while on board for 2005. So we were throwing ideas around that by then we would know if we were going to want to take things a step further.

We don't want a big wedding at home...We want to go away somewhere. So we will see what happens???

We are celebrating our 1st date Anniversary on Feb 15,2004!! Wow time flies! I can not believe that it has been a year! My stupid not DH will be gone for 2 years in Sept... I can not believe that.

So don't worry Gina! I am not rushing into anything. He sure is a great catch though! I feel lucky to have him in my life...:p

Take care and I hope things are going good for you!:wave2:

I am sooooo happy for you, Michelle!!! You deserve this, totally. Now will you please clone him?? Or at least tell me where you met him?? :p

I'm just so happy that you and Josie both have found someone so wonderful to love and love you. I can't wait to see wedding pics!!! :)

LUCKY!!!

Thanks so much!! I have actually known him for years...He has kind of always been around my family...Wierd how things work out! Nothing like my ex at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So are you going on the Eastern this time???? We are looking at booking the 7 day for Nov of 2005 alone!! No kids if it is a Honeymoon cruise.

Our other Wedding option is to get married next summer at the beach in Panama City with the Family and then take our Honeymoon cruise ALONE in the fall....Sounds like a good plan too me!! We will see....

Have a great time on your trip!! Did you re-book from you cruise last year???

Be careful with this idea if you're planning on inviting family to meet you there...

There have definitely been cases of folks planning weddings at various ports of call. The family was at the island waiting for the ship (and the couple) to arrive, but weather prevented the ship from making their visit to the island.

So don't consider this option if you'd have family there that would be disappointed. And don't make any arrangements that would require a nonrefundable outlay of cash.

There is a place that my niece just got married at and it is called Chapel By The Sea on 205 Elizabeth Street, Key West, Florida which is not far from Mallory Square - their phone number is 305-292-0331 ----Rachel was overwhelmed with what they provided for the monies - now I myself am not familiar with them or do I know their rates - you will have to be very certain on committment in all aspects.
Good luck and if I can help further, just let me know.

As Dave said, Please be careful. On my very first cruise 9/28/2002 we did not make it to Key West. We were disappointed because we planned a BIG get together with Shirley. But there was a young couple on board that were devastated. The had a huge wedding planned in Key West, and they were going to be the only ones to miss it. I saw the young lady at Guest Services shortly after the change of itineray was announced. She was just standing there crying. It was so sad.:(
Good Luck!

You can not control the weather and so that would be a scary thought.... So I think what we may do is plan for a June 2005 wedding in Fort Walton beach area with our family and then book the 7 day Disney Magic for our Honeymoon in the fall.

Then we won't have to worry about missing a port and nothing going right. We can just relax and enjoy our cruise....:sunny:

It was just a brief thought, but the more I think about it the more I think we will stick with a beach wedding that our family can attend. Plus it is only a 12 hour drive...:teeth:

Thanks for all the advice!:wave2:
