A woman in her late 50s with underlying health issues. Not sure were you're getting that from, but it's inaccurate.Actually I just read it was a high school student in Washington who died.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee is the reason for the confusion. He released a statement saying it was the male patient that passed away.A woman in her late 50s with underlying health issues. Not sure were you're getting that from, but it's inaccurate.
So it wasn’t either of the two previously confirmed cases in Washington but a new case?It was a man in his 50's with underlying conditions according to Washington State.
Not a woman, not the 19 year old.
I believe the woman was one of the cases previously being tracked, but I can't confirm right now.So it wasn’t either of the two previously confirmed cases in Washington but a new case?
They are now saying the deceased was a man in his 50’s.I believe the woman was one of the cases previously being tracked, but I can't confirm right now.

Some cancellations need to be made earlier because of money issues. That is a particular concern with cruises.Listen, I am concerned about it myself, but millions of people get the normal flu, which is also deadly and easily spread, thousands die and end up in hospitals, yet nobody bats an eye about going out and doing things. They don't worry about catching it and canceling things. If older, maybe its different
While I of course would not want to go overseas now, it has more to do with being quarantined there, then actually getting sick.
I think the media likes to cause panic amongst people because it generates dollars for them. ( I mean look at many of the sites that are linked here. For something so serious, you literally have to pay to read an article or sign up, what a joke )
While I am not saying this isn't serious, because it is, and people are suffering, I just don't think people need to be acting irrational at the moment by canceling plans that are months away. Within a few weeks, yes I understand, but just give it time. Have I thought about canceling my Italy trip in May, yes its crossed my mind, and I might even book other hotel arrangements somewhere else as a last resort, but I wouldn't cancel anything right now for trips in April and Beyond
If this was a virus that was killing people in there younger years and hundreds of thousands, or millions were getting infected in a very short period of time, with half of them dying like in a disaster movie, I would probably be very scared. For now though, I am waiting and hoping for the best, and not going to go nuts over it.

There is no right or wrong as people decide what is best in their situation.
And I disagree that media "likes to cause panic." If you are watching the sky is falling news, it might be time to choose another channel.
Quality counts.

Everyone wants to be first. Like YouTube comments or something. First! I mean look at the first death report, no one could wait and get the actual details. You can't disagree that the media causes panic if you are suggesting for poster to watch other news.
Fact is majority of people do watch those channels and those channels do have sensationalistic headlines.
So yes, the media plays a big part in spreading panic. As does social media when everyone presents rumors and conjecture as fact. To deny this is just silly.
There is a middle ground between being an alarmist and a denier.
I think there are many news sources. If someone is watching or reading from a source that "likes to cause panic" maybe it's time to select a new source. You can't disagree that the media causes panic if you are suggesting for poster to watch other news.

Extremists are rarely helpful in most situations.
