Have not seen any discussion/chatter about the opening date. Looking forward to reading about experiences at the cabins, including check-in process, layout/comfort, using the grills, the free laundry at the comfort station, etc.

Also, does anyone know if any tours (with incentives) are going to be offered?

Cheers!

Thank you for your response. I will be on the lookout for the previews.

We check into the cabins on August 14th. Looking forward to returning to FW. Stayed there with my family and another family during our very first trip to WDW in 1983. Nostalgia!

I am checking in to Riviera on Wednesday and plan to schedule a CFW tour for Thursday - I have a FW contract at CFW awaiting my DocuSign, but I figure the contract can wait until after the tour. I love Ft Wilderness, particularly in December. I'm one of those people that would sometimes bring an RV and set up decorations, and I always like the log cabin style of the old cabins when not in an RV. I'm looking forward to seeing the new ones on Thursday, but I have cabin reservations for Thanksgiving and a week in December anyway!

Looking forward to more info and some early reviews/comments. For me, it's like a homecoming as my family stayed in the old cabins for almost as long as they existed. I finally managed to book the cabins for 1/31/25 to 2/4/25 for my Jan/Feb trip, and am looking so forward to getting back...last stay at the cabins for me was June 2015 - so it'll be just shy of 10 years - since going DVC, I only twice cashed out points to stay at the cabins just for the fond memories.

Does anyone know how far in advance you can reserve golf carts for a DVC stay?

Thanks on the golf cart confirm - I went ahead and booked it for my trip. I couldn't imagine staying there without one - it's one of the best parts of staying in the cabins, heading to the stores or boat docks in the cart rather than waiting for the internal bus. Sometimes, I just enjoy taking an evening drive around the grounds, looking for wildlife and seeing the nice custom busses and RVs.

I believe @pkrieger2287 and his wife previously mentioned they were staying in an older cabin last night and moving to a CFW cabin today. Hopefully they will post something on their website in the coming days.

How (and where) are tours being scheduled?

We’ll be there for a week during the holidays and I can’t wait. Fort Wilderness has been growing on me for several years and we love to make at least one trip out there when we’re at WDW. We were able to reserve a 4 seater golf cart, but they were out of six seaters. I think we can manage though, we’ll only have six for a few days.

They look beautiful. The only thing I’m a little disappointed in is (and correct me if I’m wrong) the lack of tub. When we first booked I thought the plans showed a tub but all of the videos show showed showers only. Showers will be a bit of a struggle for one of my kids (special needs), but we can power through if we absolutely have to.

They look really nice. I still feel like they didn't quite nail it though. They built bunk beds that only fit children but then didn't include a tub. I'm surprised they didn't do two configurations ... one with a queen and bunks with a tub/shower combo, and one with a king in the bedroom and a walk-in shower.

No matter, the math doesn't work for us with the high dues and expected fees for our dogs and a golf cart. It's very disappointing.

A missed opportunity given the tiny home trend. Bunk beds in the Primary bedroom is awkward no matter how vloggers/Disney try to spin it. Having a loft for kids would have been ideal however that needs to wait for cabins 3.0. Wash and dryer and the end of the hallway outside the bathroom is a no brainer but the bean counters said no. Ludicrous given the maintenance dollars. Expensive fix in a future full refresh but will be denied unless the corporate structure changes.

Imagineers have the vision and know how just look to Tokyo Disney under the stewardship of Oriental Land Company.

Anyone stayed or visited these yet? I'm curious not just to hear what people think of staying in the cabins themselves, but also curious how many of the loops are completed with the new cabins, vs how many loops look to be under current construction/replacement, and how many loops still have the old cabins. There have been 7 loops (there had been 8 originally, but they had gotten rid of 2100).

I'd like to start putting in requests for my January stay, but without knowing which loops are done, it's hard. I always liked 2700 loop with the old cabins except the part that backs up to 2800 - it has the most 'woodsy' area behind the cabins - 2300 and 2500's loops at the back that abut the canal too (though back in the day, they were prone to flooding with heavy rain).

AFAIK, only loop 2500 is open. Not sure which ones they are working on now.

Thank you. I hadn't found anything confirming which loops were done first. Sounds like they're going 'backwards' - if 2500 is done, maybe 2300 next - sounds like they might go all around the outside of the loops and do the 3 inner loops last - which would make some sense to avoid construction noise for those staying in the loops.

My first request is going to be farther around the backs of the loops, rather than the ones closest to the road or backed up against other loops. Rumors indicated they are aiming for a loop a month (30-35 cabins), so by the time my January trip comes along, they may have 200+ cabins converted.
