anyone change 5+2 package

I am unsure I did the right thing, booked 5+2 package for Nov.
2nd-9th I never booked a package before, always paid for room and tickets seperate.
With all the e-mails and post cards are you dropping the package
and getting a better rate?

I also have the 5+ 2 package (for September.) I have researched all the new codes and email pin numbers and once you add in tickets the 5 + 2 almost always ends up being a better deal. The only way the recent codes end up being better is if you don't need to stay a whole week, or if you only need less than 5 days of tickets. The codes are also nice if you want to add an extra day on to your 5 + 2 package. Let me know if you need more details. I figured it all out and posted it on one of the 'I got an email' threads.

I booked the 5+2 for AKL, savannah view and my rate was $3214. I changed it to the September Dream Maker and my rate went to $2701. I got the e-mail with the special rate and it went down to $2557. and that was for a Dream Maker with the passes. They can make that code a Dream Maker...if they don't offer, ask them.

So, for me, the 5+2 was the worst. I'm staying 9/24-10/4.

So, I'd try all possible deals and see what works!

When I called and asked the CM about the September Dream Maker he laughed at me and said that I would be insane to switch from the 5 + 2. We are staying at Pop (I don't know if that makes a difference,) and he quoted me a Sept Dream Maker price that was about $300 more than our current 5 + 2 deal. Hmm????

Hmmm...that's interesting.....

I went online to disneyworld.com, plugged in my dates using the September Dream Maker, got the rate, called AAA and told them to change it and it saved me over $500. Maybe it's the resorts? I'd plug in the dates on the website and see what you get...just to make sure.

You could also call about the e-mail you got and get the rate with the Dream Maker package if you didn't want to buy the passes separately. That saved me $144.

I figure...that's shopping/dining money, so I always go for it.

Ok, it must have something to do with the resort. I just went to the disney site and figured out what the Sept Dream Maker would cost for us and it came out to be $141.58 more than our 5+2 package. Not 'crazy' like the CM told me, but still more expensive. It must have something to do with where you're staying. Sorry for the confusion

Wait, I think I figured out what I don't understand...

Did they let you combine your Sept Dream Maker with other discounts? Were you able to use your email code and/ or a AAA code on top of the package price?

I don't think she combined any offers....when I called, I told her that I got an e-mail and that I already had the September Dream Maker package booked, but wanted to check out this rate. So, she said she would use the Dream Maker package code instead of the room only and it was $144. less than the September Dream Maker.

I would say to call if you get the e-mail and ask if there are package rates available. I didn't ask, but when I mentioned I had booked a package, she offered to check that code instead.

It's all a mystery how these people work! Sometimes it's good for us, sometimes it doesn't help, but the hope that it could be good just keeps us all going back!

Ok, gotcha I was a little lost if you couldn't tell Unfortunately, I didn't get an email (I'm sure I would have by now) so it's a non-issue. Still got a great deal, though, and I still get to go so no worries.

I also have the 5 + 2 Package booked for September 12th. I called with all the new codes and room only rates and found out my 5 + 2 package is still $300 cheaper. We are staying at the Polynesian. I was hoping for AP rates, but doesn't look good for September. Guess I will be thankful for the 5 + 2 package.

I booked the 5+2 package for nov 13-20; I am still working out the details but it appears that I will be saving about $300 if I cancel and book room-only with the email I received. My only issue is that std savannah rooms are not available at AKL unless I go 11/14-11/20 (already booked air so my dates are set). Might have to stay elsewhere the first night and then just 6 days at AKL (don't want to pay for the savannah deluxe for the 1 night -though it might be easier to change rooms than it would to change resorts!)
