Anyone catch the Wiggles at MGM this week?

Just curious! We've been watching their DVDs over and over lately and I was thinking how my kids would have LOVED seeing them at MGM!

We saw them today. They were really good. Greg (yellow shirt) was sick and flew back to Australia, but his stand in was very good. The place was packed (Indiana Jones theater) and the kids loved them. A lot of kids brought roses for the dinosaur and bones for Wag the dog

I'm sorry Greg was ill; I hope it's nothing serious. Who was it that replaced him, do you know? Must have been someone pretty closely associated in order to know the songs and dance steps, etc.

My DD is in love with the Hot Potato Live DVD right now, and they just impress me to no end with their talent. I know a lot of parents can't stand them, but I just think they are great! I can't wait til they come to Portland again so we can catch a show!

Alice28, it was Sam Moran that filled in for Greg. He is a Wiggly dancer and plays Professor Sing-a-Lotta-Songs on Sailing Around the World.

We are big fans, too. We did not see them at MGM, but we just saw them recently in Chicago. We've been to 6 concerts in 4 years. I agree with you, they are so talented. Hope you get to see them live soon!

Greg apparently fainted before a concert in Rhode Island and was treated at a hospital for dehydration. He continued to have symptoms, however, and it was decided that he should return home to Australia. He had double-hernia surgery recently, and they think he may have returned to touring too soon.

Ack- poor Greg! Double hernia surgery and then their aggressive touring schedule- yes, I can see how that would do a guy in.

Thanks for the info! We have only been 1 one concert, in 04. When they were here in 05 I had just given birth to DD and couldn't go. And then I just forgot to look at the touring schedule for this Spring- d'oh! They usually seem to be on the West coast in March/April, so hopefully again next year, before DS5 doesn't like them anymore. DS8 will sing along with the songs still, but I doubt he would want to go to the concert.

DD7 refused to go to the concert this year, but then she was so disappointed that she missed it. She said she is going next year no matter what. DD's 5 and 2 loved it. They always put on a great show.

The Wiggles truly do have a gift. I hope they take good care of themselves and are around for a long time. Have you ever had a chance to meet them? They are incredible people. Very genuine. I really admire them.

The closest I have come to meeting any of the Wiggles is when Murray scooched in our row to take the rose for Dorothy from my sons....he was incredibly nice and polite. I thought we would just have to pass the rose down to the end of the row so he could get it, but no, he made his way through to us and thanked us for coming. Very class act. I just love them. I too hope they will be around for several more years, at least until Molly is 5-6!
