Anyone carry their regular diaper bag/backpack?

I admit, I have fallen into the trap of reading these boards and thinking I need need need all of these things mentioned to have a great trip. I was looking at the Baggalini Messenger bag, and others mentioned, and totally agree that they look great. But then, I realized I have a great diaper bag (fluerville) with many compartments, etc. that will do the trick. Also, DH loves to carry his backpack (Jansport) everywhere, so maybe we could use that and that way he'd carry it.

We have a backpack diaper bag and have used it for all of our trips to Disney. I would recommend going with the backpack. There is plenty of space and they are easy to carry around the parks.

We stick with our old Jansport backpack. It's so convenient. We have a seperate compartment in the front that we store all the changing stuff in so we don't have to dig out too much stuff everytime. I always think, can I balance DS on this hip while I dig everything out I need with one hand? If the answer is yes, we have a winner! Also, I try to never, ever drag something into the parks that would break my heart if I lost it...well, except DH & DS! It helps me stay away from the "I wants" that happen when I read about all the cool stuff on the Dis.

As long as you have a stroller with a good basket underneath to hold it, I don't see anything wrong with taking a regular diaper bag. You'll know where everything is in it that way. I love my Overland Donner, but I admit I had trouble finding anything in it, because the middle is just one big compartment.

We are beyond the diaper bag stage but still in the "need to bring a change of clothing" due to water play and messy eating habits. The one bag we always return to using is an old LL Bean school backpack. The straps are padded, so it's very comfortable to wear over one or both shoulders.

We used a Jansport backpack for DD 15 months in February and it worked great! DH or I could wear it (he would not carry my pink diaper bag ). It would hang on the stroller or go over the shoulder when we went on a ride. It's actually my old jansport from college!
