not us here i think the parks will just be too crazy for me

no not cancelling, the parks are not crazy, it is the restaurants. I just hope all these free diners know they have to leave a tip now. I fell sorry for the waiters. going during the week when it starts and glad I had my adrs before it was annoucned. this is my third year in a row for free dining and the parks are really not bad. have a disney day everyone.

I agree that they have ruined that time of year for getting a nice dinner. The restaurants are so crazy it's impossible!

I would cancel IF I was already planning to go that week. #1 I don't get free dining and #2 the restaurants are crazy busy. It's just not fun. You have to plan every single night of your vacation for dinner months in advance. Stresses me out actually. I will never travel during free dining again.

I always make my ADR's anyway.....so busy dosen't bother me.

I think that restaurants plan on being at full capacity anyway....
Went for free dining last yr....split BWV then POFQ for Free dining.

It's just too darn hot in Aug....although if I didn't have a trip planned next week and Oct....I would probably do it.
It is still torturing me because my office is closed that week.....just to torture me:goodvibes

Definately NOT changing my plans! A week at WDW means 21 meals and I just cant stand eating out that much......which is one reason I invested in DVC: a full kitchen!! And I agree with the above posts: planning a trip around ADRs is just no fun. WAYyyyyyy to stressful and I will never do it.

I'm not changing my plans. I will be there the week before Free Dining and now I'm really hoping the crowds will be much smaller.

Thank goodness we're there the week after it's over. I, too, feel sorry for the wait staff. They probably won't get their tips.

well weve got one room for those nights just rest of our party waiting for those 2 rooms

I have a question and I hope I am placing it in the right forum. My wife and I are spending the 13th thru the 21st of September at OKW (the 14th thru the 21st is on an exchange from another non Disney resort) and the 13th we are going to book rack rate thru Disney. My question is will we be eligable free dining for just the night we are paying rack rate or will we be eligable for the whole stay considering this is not being done on points?

Any help on this would be great as I am a total new person to working around DVC. My wife has been told to call back late tonight but I just found out that she is going to be tied up in court until late tonight with a client.

Thanks ahead of time.

I THINK there is a 3 night minimum.

We didn't cancel anything, just added an extra trip!!! Just getting some extra use out of our annual passes. We're staying 7 nights in a value (AS Music) for $650. Already have annual passes (we did have to purchase 1 day passes for everyone, but I'm not including that cost because we're trading them in for our AP renewals which we would have done anyway), and the food is free!! 7 nights/8 days in Disney INCLUDING FOOD for a family of 4 - $650 - just couldn't pass that up.

This will be our first "3 trip" year (June, Sept, & Dec).

I'm sorry to break it to you, but even if you are going in September then you'll be there during free dining. The dates run later in September, too - it was offered as a bounce-back offer last year.

It is not worth it to me to cancel a 3 night DVC stay to book a package with tickets to get free dining. (Not that it would assist the OP anyway since I am at AKV, not BCV)

I'm also booked at Victoria & Alberts and the dining plan can't be used there.

You are eligible for free dining ONLY if you book a full price room/tickets package through Disney (or your travel agent books through Disney). Your exchange stay is definitely not eligible (although you might be able to purchase the dining plan). The one day at rack rate would not be eligible either because 1) Room only bookings are not eligible; you'd have to buy a package with tickets and 2) There is a 3 night minimum stay for free dining.
