We are trying to decide on some kids bedroom furniture for our new home and need some help!!!!! Does anyone know if Stanley furniture is any good??? It is expensive but I would rather have something that will last than buy something cheap that is going to fall apart. I would appreciate any suggestions!!!

My bed is Stanley. ( I say bed and not bedroom suit because they discontinued it before I could buy the rest of it :headache: )
Anyway, the quality is nice, and it is beautiful!

I have bought Stanley bedroom sets for both my ds. They are excellent quality. My ds10 has his set for 7 years and it is still in excellent shape. I do not think you will be disappointed.

We went and bought complete Stanley bedroom sets for both of the kids, as other said yes it is expensive, but I also think so well worth it as we will not have to buy them again for the kids. Both have the head and foot boards with a trundle unit, student desk with hutch, bachelor chest with hutch for our son, long dress with mirror for our daughter, nightstand, and chest of drawers for both. I plan to send the furniture off with them when they are older and ready to move out. (not for awhile DS is 7 and DD is 8.)

My bedroom suit is Stanley. I bought most of it 15 years ago and completed it 13 years ago. It's held up really well and still looks new. I would recommend it and would definetly buy it again.

My bedroom furniture is Stanley and my DD's bed is Stanley. All very nice. My son's bedroom stuff is Broyhill-- absolute crap.

Also, we ordered our Stanley furniture through a place in High Point, NC and this made it VERY affordable. It is expensive in our showrooms around here.

My DD has Stanley furniture in her bedroom. It is very nice, sturdy, and beautiful. DH and I chose furniture for both of our kids that would grow with them- therefore we did not mind spending a little more. I did not want to buy furniture when they were young, only to have to replace it when they are tweens/teens. DS has been in a queen since he was 3 and DD has the full. This makes it easy for sleeping with them also! :thumbsup2

We just bought Stanley Second Nature collection for DS. We got the suggested retail prices off their website and bought it at Furnitureland South in North Carolina for 40% off the published price. If this is an option for you, I highly recommend it.

We are happy with the quality and DS loves it!

I guess I'm in the minority here. I have a Stanley bedroom suite in my bedroom and I don't care for it. I don't want to get rid of it because I love the pieces; I have a king bed, nightstands, chest on chest, entertainment center, and armoir (sp?). That would be a lot to replace. But I don't think the quality is there. The finish has come off in places on the nightstand and on the chest. The runners on the drawers don't seem good quality.

I dont actually have it yet, but we just bought my dd the Isabella set from Stanley Young America collection. It looked like it was made well, lets hope it stands up :goodvibes

My dd 12, also has the Caroline collection. The full sleigh bed, the dresser, mirror and nightstand. It's about 6 years old now and still in great shape. We ordered from a place in North Carolina and saved close to 50% even with shipping. It was about $230 to ship from NC to Long Island and I think the furniture stores here wanted $150 to ship.

Another :thumbsup2 for Stanley.

Unless their quality has changed, we bought our bedroom quite a few years ago, and it is very very good quality.

PS: The last furniture we bought was Pennsylvania House. We special ordered it, There is not a dealer closeby. I had not actually seen these particular pieces. The quality is NOT good!!!! :sad2: With the name Pennsyvania House, and with the very high costs, you would expect heirloom quality furniture made in the USA. It is now imported from China. It is very light-weight. I am not happy with the cheap finish. (Definately NOT a good durable hand-rubbed finish like it should be) And, we have already replaced on drawer pull. The one we picked up at Lowe's to replace it is better quality than the one they had used.

Thanks so much everyone!!!! I feel much better about this purchase now!!!!!

Those of you who purchased from North Carolina...did the furniture come unassembled???? If you buy it locally, does it come assembled????

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

We bought a white Stanley twin bed, armoire, 5-drawer chest and bed-side table for DD about 5-6 years ago. Still looks like it did the day it was delivered. It was delivered completely intact in cardboard shipping boxes. No assembly. The bed actually came from Santa Claus. ;) DD was very young so we could set it up and put the new bedding on it while she slept in the next room. The rest of the pieces came after Christmas. :thumbsup2 Very happy with the furniture.

The furniture comes completely assembled and at Furnitureland South, they have what they call "White Glove" delivery - they deliver it, unwrap it, and place it in the room it needs to go in, all part of the service.

You can definitely place an order over the phone. Tonight or tomorrow mroning I can PM you the name of the sales rep I worked with (I'm at work now and don't have access to that info).

As I said, cost was 60% of the price listed on Stanley website, .69$ per pound (that's 69 cents a pound) for shipping (from NC to central NJ - your location may vary this price) and tax (your state's rate). When I get home, I could also even check what the shipping was for our particular pieces, because the invoice breaks it down - you'll get an idea of how much each piece weighs and what kind of charges you are looking at).
