I second the ebay idea. I have been scouring ebay for our upcoming cruise as I cannot see spending a great deal of money on formal wear for my family of 5 (3 kids who will outgrow the clothes before they ever wear them again.) I have found 2 long evening dresses for myself, a black suit, dress shirt, and dress shoes for my 9 yr old son, and 2 short formal dresses for my 6 yr old DD. I haven't done all the math yet, but I'd say I have spent approx. $40. on all of this.
Beware though, watch what the shipping charges are before you bid! I have been burned a little with having a winning bid on a different small item (a great bargain) only to find out S&H is a ridiculous $6.00! My fault for not checking on S&H prior to placing a bid. Anyway, I have also bid on a few other items on ebay and in the majority of cases have been happy with what I have received. Good luck!

Happy sailing!
