Anyone buy a crossover vehicle lately?

Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav4, the only 2 I would even consider. I made the mistake of buying a Ford because the payments would be the same for brand new over used of Toyota or Honda. Now I'm suffering with sitting out in the driveway working on it and fixing things when I shouldn't have to be with just a mere 60,000 miles on it.

OMGOSH! Really?????:scared1:

I wanted to get a FORD EDGE! What kind of ford did you get?

thanks!

We actually have two Ford Edges and love them both. Our son took the 2007 to college, so we purchased a 2010. If we ever buy new again, it will probably be an Edge.

We would never purchase a Kia, Toyota or Honda. Too small and too "cheap" feeling. Just our opinion, for what it's worth. People call my Edge a TANK because it looks and feels so solid.

Hi! That's what I am looking for! Which model did you choose? Why do you like the Edge better than the Hyudnia?

I am actually looking forward to winter this year because I know my Edge is going to handle GREAT in the snow!

I'm so jealous! Good for you! Tell me about your EDGE! LOL. What do you like about it, what model? what color!? LOL

I LOVE the FORD EDGE!

I call my Edge a tank too, because that is what it feels like. The thing weighs a ton and everything about it feels solid. It handles very nicely in the snow. And it drives soooo smoothly the rest of the time.

We have a Ford Edge and we REALLY love it!

Same here :thumbsup2

I LOVE my Edge!!!

I loved my 2007 Edge so much, I traded it in back in August, on a 2010 Edge!!!!

I love my Edge too! :thumbsup2

Us too! Love our 2010!
We actually splurged (which I know is frowned upon here on the budget board :rotfl:) and got the Limited, with everything but the Navigation system.

Love the power liftgate, which my 2006 Eddie Bauer Explorer did not have. That sucker was heavy to pull closed.

Love the panoramic vista roof, just because its cool :thumbsup2

Love the mileage - my Explorer was a gas-sucking V8, this is a V6.

Love the sync bluetooth system. A little tricky to set up, but awesome.

The seats are so comfy, there's lots of room in the cargo area, and it really just drives nice. I really wish I would've gotten one of these years ago.

My ONLY complaint, but this is a complaint with almost every Ford vehicle I've owned (and I am a former Ford employee, so I've had lots) - the angle of the headrests make it VERY difficult to install a FF carseat or highback booster seat nice and straight and tight, especially in the middle. Its either tight and a little wonky to one side, or you have to take the headrest completely off.

And now that I have one in a booster, I have found that the seatbelt buckles are sunk way into the seat, which is nice if you are an adult and you don't want to sit on them, but not so nice if you are a 6 year old trying to buckle your own seatbelt.

But other than that, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Edge! And right now if you can find a 2010 leftover, Ford Credit has 0% financing for 60 months + a rebate!

I bought a 2008 black on black Ford Edge Limited AWD in May. We LOVE this car. I bought it with around 20k miles and I've put 11k miles on it since I bought it. It's probably the most comfortable vehicle I've ever owned. I too love the Vista Roof, Sync, Navigation, safety features, and it gets pretty good mileage on the highway considering it's super heavy and AWD. The 2011 models have had some really great features added. I've been drooling over the new driver assistance features (alerts the driver of a vehicle/object too close, primes the brakes, etc) and redesigned controls/Sync menus. I pretty much stole the 2008 so I can't really justify a trade in for the upgrade. I can dream though...

We just bought our Chevy Traverse in August and we LOVE it! Ours seats 8. The third row is very roomy and much more comfortable than my sisters Dodge Durango. The second row easily fits my two kids car seats as well as my nephews car seat. It's a great family car. And when you fold the third row down there is a ton of room in the back for luggage, groceries, whatever!

I'm back and we decided on the Honda CR-V. My brother has the older version and this new model is more modern looking. Took it for a test drive and really liked it. The Kia salesman was very very pushy on the Sedona. I did like the Kia Sportage.
Thanks again for all of your suggestions! It's been a crazy weekend of car shopping!
Now tomorrow it's loan shopping time! LOL!

Congrats....we just bought a CR-V as well! We are picking it up in a few days. DH has a long highway commute each day so we want something reliable and decent on fuel. This is our 3rd Honda. (I drive our 2000 Odyssey and it still looks and runs like it's new).

Just an FYI....Honda Finance is offering 1.9% on the CR-V right now. That was one of our primary reasons for buying this now. We have a good down payment but decided to do a short term loan and just leave more in our savings based on this rate. Your dealer should be able to give you the details.

Best of luck and enjoy your CRV.

I've had my Traverse for almost 2 years (bought it when the model was brand new) and I still love it. We have the captains chairs, so ours only seats 7.

Thanks! I picked it up yesterday and it is very nice! I think I'm going to LOVE it!

My car was hit yesterday morning on the way to work. Back right side and the wheel is pretty bad. I have to wait for tomorrow to see if it is worth being repaired or if it will be totaled. It's a 2003 Pontiac so it might not be worth the repairs.

I'll need a car soon since my lovely Erie Insurance is only giving me three days on my rental car after the decision is made. If it gets repaired I'm fine to keep the rental.

I've been looking at the Kia's.

Anyone recently purchase?

I have a Kia Borrego. It's not considered a crossover, it's a 7 passenger SUV. Unlike a crossover, it has a true 4-wheel drive mode, rather than full time AWD. I really didn't need a 7 passenger vehicle, so I usually keep the 3rd row folded down. I love all of the storage space.

I've had it for about a year now, and I really like it. Plus, you've gotta love the 10 year Kia warranty. If you happen to live near the Pittsburgh region, the dealer I bought mine from is clearing out all of the 2009 Borrego's (new and untitled, fully loaded) for $23,800. The sticker price is $35,000 - $37,000 originally. My BIL and SIL just bought one almost exactly like mine last weekend. If you want more details, just PM me.

We have a 2010 CR-V and LOVE it. I have had it about 6 months. It is my first SUV, and my first NEW car ever! My MIL has a 2009, and FIL has inhertited BIL's 1995 model for a farm vehicle.

I have a Suzuki GrandVitara, which I love ... but I don't think it's big enough at all. I only have one child, she's 5, and in the booster seat, her feet end up right on the back of my seat. She has ripped the fabric on the pocket back there ...

We babysit our friends three year old, and having two carseats back there is a tight squeeze. I am looking at a Honda Pilot, eventually, but even the Suzuki XL7 has more leg room. I'm not sure we really need the optional third row seating ...

However, I have been rearended 2 times so far this year, and let me tell you the PITA it is to have my car repaired. Both accidents were less than 10 mph, and the first did $5000 worth of damages to the car. Why ... because of the stupid tire cover on the back. Since the accidents weren't my fault, the money isn't an issue for me (thank goodness!) but the last time the car was fixed, it took over a week to get all the parts in. They had to put a new door on the back hatch! I will never buy a car with a tire cover on the outside again ... talking to the insurance agent from the first accident, she told me that they are the worst for rear end accidents. Sure enough ... almost two weeks ago, another guy rearended me, and I'm still waiting for the repairs to be finished. Luckily, this time it doesn't look like it dented in the back door too badly ... so, fingers crossed it doesn't have to be replaced again. Just something to think about.

I love my CR-V! We can fit 3 teens in the back seat, I wouldn't want to do a really long trip with 3 but it's fine for two. We looked at Toyota Ravs and CR-Vs due to the reliability issues. My Ford Windstar had as many repairs as it cost!
