anyone bought the 100 pt special at AKV recently?

We are thinking about this as our 1st buy in with DVC, just wanting to see others experiences with it. Were you able to get a different use year other than December? Any developer pts?

You do not get the developer points with a 100 point purchase. We recently bought 200 points and I asked my guide about possibly splitting it into two 100 point contracts and he said we'd lose the developer points, so we didn't do it.

I imagine, though I can't say definitively, that you could buy any UY they haven't sold out of yet. My guide said that June is already sold out.

I am rather irritated how each guide gives different promotions and different information. They need to do one thing and stick with it. It does not seem fair or ethical the way they conduct business. (although I realize that is business)

I was just going to ask this exact question, if I can buy in at the 100 point mark right now and receive the developer points I would jump on it. Ideally I would like to have around 250-300 points when all is said and done but I would like all of those to be small add-ons so that if need be I can sell them easily. We're also still debating whether or not we should wait to see what happens with the Contemporary simply because of location but we really like AKL too. Looks like I need to wait for my guide to call me back as it seems some are getting the incentives and some are not, hmmm, that doesn't seem right. Well I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow my guide is off today.

I don't think that this is correct. In the past promotions were based upon total points purchased. I would contact your guide again and ask him to check with his manager.

Keep in mind different sales locations will have different promotions so it sometimes pays to check around if some of the other locations are close to you. The DL sales office just had a member event over Memorial Day and was offering some great incentives.

That's been our experience as well. We bought AKV during the double developer point offer last year -- 100 points in the form of 4x25 point contacts. And we got the 200 developer points.

I think it was probably because it was actually considered an add-on. I purchased by phone and was told no developer points. I haven't seen any other posts from new members about getting developer points.

I'm guessing here but might it have something to do with if you are getting live inventory or pre-sale inventory? December use year has '07 points available where I think pre-sale inventory does not so you get developer points to make up for it "dues free".

Is this a published discount? The only one listed on the website is the $1600 off the SSR.

I was thinking that we would buy 200 points when BLT came available hopefully with some incentive but would it make more sense to by 100 now with AKV and then 100 with whatever member pricing BLT gets offered with?

This is exactly what is driving me out of wanting the dvc! The can't keep their incentives straight. We called our guide yesterday and she gave us 100 dev. points with our 100 point contract. Ours is at Jambo though.

We just bought in at AKV with a Feb use year. 100 point contract. We are brand new members. We didn't get any developer points, but got a credit of $8 p/p so $800 discount. We did get all points from Feb 2008.

This is what my guide told me when I recently added on. If I wanted the developer points I had to purchase 100 points. I only added on 50 as that is all we currently needed.
