It's kind of odd that this bothers me, since I'm fairly laid-back about advertising.....but last night I saw a new (to me, anyway) ad for 7-up, where the spokesguy comments that he wants a more noticeable display for his product, and proceeds to start a fireworks display within the store. People are running and ducking, and they show firefighters coming in with fire extinguishers to put out the small blazes. I just sat there with my jaw on the floor, thinking of all the poor folks who lost friends and family in the fireworks-started blaze in a RI nightclub. It was the ONLY thing I could think of, and I have to believe I'm not the only one. I wonder if 7-up will end up pulling this ad, at least in New England. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

This commercial bothered me as well. I remember to well what happened here....I know its hard to please everyone, but can you imagine what the families of those 100 ppl think when they see that ad??

I havent seen the ad but I guess it is distasteful, especially seeing the anniversary of that is coming up in a few days. :(

I saw the ad, but was as closely affected by the tragic nightclub incident in RI. Why not email 7up/PepsiCo and express your sadness at their display of insensitivity.
