didnt know whether to bother booking this or not. I tend to stand by CP for wishes and by canada for illuminations. Is it worth booking either of the above if so do I have to phone and book? Do we get vouchers sent or can you just walk up?

The Epcot location is a nice one. You can get just as good views of Illuminations for almost anywhere around the lake if you get your spot early enough. The advantage with this is not having to wait so long.

MK? Well it's outside the Plaza Restaurant. If you don't mind watching Wishes over the tree tops it's fine. :rolleyes1 I don't really understand how they came to pick this spot for a 'preferred viewing location' but there you have it. ;)

We never have, we are happy without it. Vouchers come in the pack from Disney with everything else.
Try to always stand in MK outside CP, great view. Epcot whereever we are just stop and watch, near railings if no-one there, further back if busy good view wherever we stand.

We reserved illuminations and the CM made us booked wishes. I wasn't going to bother from the reviews I had read about the trees and I told her this and she said there were no trees.... I thought " that's not what the dis says" Anyway I'm going to scope it out before it's wishes time and make a decsion then. Looking forward to not waiting around for illuminations :-)

Like Wayne said your vouchers come in your "ticket" pack and you just need to call an " reserve" a standing spot ( which I had a giggle about) :-)

The illuminations spot is really good and was very quiet when we were there so you could have turned up at the last minute and got a great view.

The wishes one is rubbish ! I had read on here that it was but thought it cant be THAT bad ! Well you are right behind a big tree so you can see the fireworks high up fine but its not the best at all. The advantage is that you get a seat, we were so tired we stayed there that night and watched it from a better position another night.

We thought they should have the station as the reserved seating-great view and you would have the advantage of getting out the park quickly too.

please please please go to the poly beach and watch the mk fireworks from there:love:
the music is piped in,, you dont have the crowds and the view is amazing!
plus there is no crush to get out of mk, and the hoards on the monorail:scared1:

I saw a small area , turn left at the castle, on the leftjust before the the bridge to Liberty Square.
This had 3 or 4 rows of benches with a rope across the front.
Would this be the priority seating?
I looked to see if it was for disabled guests, but could not see any signs

I can also recommend watching from the ferry dock at T&TC
The music is also piped into here

We passed the area that you mention and i think it was priority seating but never saw a CM to ask.

Great photo by the way, I'm planning to take my digital SLR this year to get some better photos of the fire works. My little point and shoot one just does not get it quite right. Might even have to try that spot as well :thumbsup2

i dont know who that little area is for, we heard a lady asking if she could sit there and the CM said no its for VIPs, 'am I not a VIP then ? ' she asked indignantly :rotfl2:

Someone will explain it better than me but the preferred viewing for disney hotel guests is to the right of the castle as you look at it, its a big area with steps down and tables and chairs near the noodle station at tomorrowland.

ok thankyou. The poly sounds a good option. We are going 3 times anyway so will def do the beach at the poly. Will reserve the illuminations def but will stand by CP as I normally do:thumbsup2

I think this may be where we had Dessert Party last year :goodvibes

Re Epcot - Where exactly is the 'preferred viewing' spot - is it seating and is there a number to call on the voucher? We were planning on eating at the Rose and Crown and trying to get an outside table - wopuld this be a better spot?

Re MK - We only had a spot once which was totally obscured by trees and said never again - we are Tomorrowland bridge fans.

We sit on the ground. ;) Like Pigby, also fans of the Tomorrowland bridge :thumbsup2

The Epcot viewing is at the Moroccan boat landing. There is no seating, YOu do not have to wait for th vouchers to arrive Call Disney UK and select option 4 which will put you through and the CM there actually knows what you are talking about. This perk is not available to standard packages in the US so needless to say, the CMs on the US CRO line have no clue what you are talking about. I smartly thought it would be cheaper to call them first but gave up, rang Disney UK as described and had it sorted in a matter of minutes I booked in April for October so you can do this now.

Used MK priority seating in May.It was really crowded everywher else and very hot so we were happy for the seating and the space.Their was only one other family using it so we had lots of room, and yes you are obscured by the trees, but if you move further to the back its better. We did not mind too much, the comfort outweighed the perfect view on that occasion.

Have got this aswell as we booked with disney uk.

Phoned and booked it a couple of weeks ago - didn't need to wait for the voucher to arrive although they said i would need to show it.

Was given a res number for each booking.

Planning on doing epcot but will pass on MK I think and find our own spot.
