Was starting to consider booking my marathon weekend rooms and since they don't seem to be avail through the regular booking methods I was wondering if anyone had a link to the code for marathon weekend I saw how some time ago just can't find it now.

Is there a code we can call disney reservations with?

Thanks
Kim

I think you just call the 1-407-WDW-IRUN number. That is the Disneysports travel number. They should be able to help you with booking your rooms. They offer packages or just rooms.

Hi Kim,
I was going to say that if you plan on switching to an AAA rate or Florida resident rate then don't book the marathon rate. I was told that If I book the marathon rate it was considered a package and I would not be able to switch to a better rate. But, seeing that you live in Canada I don't think that is an option for you.

So, I booked the crazy rate of $135 or something like that for Pop since they did not have the 2010 rates out yet. Once I get the 2010 rates I'll switch to AAA or Florida Resident. The only drawback is they get a larger deposit 10 months ahead of time plus Goofy fees, hmm. They know how to float cash!

enjoy,
Duane

Here is the link to book directly from Disney. It is the "Marathon" package. As far as I know, it's not cheaper or anything, but I went ahead and booked it so I would definitely have a room. I can always cancel later is something better comes up.

Like Duane I've booked at Pop at an inflated rate and Disney has that first night's deposit. I'll keep watching for AP rates though. Even if I don't get the discount the cost will be adjusted once the 2010 rates are posted. It just means that I will have less of a balance due when I check in at Pop next January.

We did the same thing for POR. I had to book 2 rooms, so I paid almost $500 in deposits! But I will hardly owe anything come January. Good thing since we are going on a cruise for a week after the race!

Last year, a code for the marathon weekend was released in June or July. The code was for a package but you didn't have to buy the park tickets. It worked out well for me because the 2009 rates hadn't been released yet, so I only paid a deposit of $200 which was cheaper than paying the highest 2008 room rate at the Polynesian. I think I later switched part of my reservation to a room-only so my TA just refunded the $200 deposit and the charged me the deposit for the one night.
