Finally getting time to book the car for a couple of weeks time. Tempted to book with netflights, they have a good reduction (via quidco) when you opt for fuel and additional drivers. But just looked at Auto Europe, and they are quoting £483 (minus a 7% from quidco) for 24 days rental (7-31 August 2011) for a

'Ford Escape with ac or similar, Midsize,

Just a bit worried about the midsize ref, will it definitely be a SUV?

Also, which companies does Auto Europe usually use?

TIA,
Matt

We have our 1st car (7 seater minivan) booked with AutoEurope in August, 2nd car(full size) with Netflights.

I booked on 17/04/11, still waiting for cashback after numerous nudges on TopCashBack, 3 months and still no sign of getting it. They get a few bad reviews for this.
I tried to get them to reduce the price after booking under their lowest price guarantee, all was looking OK but by the time they checked the claim 2 days later the lower quote(netflights) had risen again, even though they had a screen shot they would not lower the price.
Thats the bad about them, the good is documents were sent promptly, can log into my account very easy to see reservation online, booking is with Dollar who are my fave company although they do deal with others.

Also look at Carhire3000.com, Intermediate SUV is showing at £469.66 less 7% Quidco.

Thanks for that. Came up as £480 with carhire3000 for me. I'm thinking we may go for the 7 seater via netflights, old habbits die hard!!!!:goodvibes

Thats strange, showing Price:was £539.84 - £469.66
Just tried again via Quidco, same price :confused3

I wouldn't hesitate using any of the tops companies, Netflights, AutoEurope, Carhire3000, USrentacar, Virgin, Holiday Autos, Expedia & more Just don't rely on cashback, they all give you a voucher for the same rental companies, they are just agents.

Thanks again. Strange indeed, as its coming up as 480 (showing on screen), before the cash back, so even better. ;)
Will just have to make up my mind. The car is such an important part of the holiday for me, dont want to make a mistake. Which is why I usually opt for the 7 seater. Did fancy a 7 seater suv, but they seem to be coming out a bit pricey....

You misunderstood the price, its showing at £469.66 less cashback (the "was" price is their pre-discount price) wish I knew why the difference, I hate getting different prices from sites.
I agree though, its not worth saving a few £ if the car is not right for you. Get what you will be happy with, on 24 days rental its probably only £1-2/day more to get what you want.

Yeah, it's a long time to be unhappy with it, I remember one year when we had a stupidly big van for 9 of us, I hated driving that!!!! Will investigate the 7 seater SUVs....
Just need somewhere to stay now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused3
