Anyone booked Boston to MCO for October yet?

I've been lurking on here to see when a good time to buy our tix will be. We are flying from Logan to WDW the first week of October and have designated both Saturdays to be travel days only... not park days.

Has anyone booked their airfare yet? If so, from where and what kind of prices did you get? Right now I'm looking at around $220/pp (that's Song so we can use the luggage service for the DME). I think JetBlue was $200/pp.

If you haven't, are you holding off for the prices to go down?

Thanks! I"m just confused  ... first time not using a travel agent (possibly) for our airfare. :D

I've actually been playing around with dates for the week BEFORE Columbus Day weekend. For me, it's probably going to be cheaper to fly down on JetBlue, and fly home on Song. Saving me money AND letting me check bags at the resort for DME. Win win for me. Except for flying on 2 one way tickets, and potentially setting myself up for extra security, but I should be solo, so no big deal, really.

Good Luck!

princess: I booked my airfare about a month ago for BOS to MCO on Song. The roundtrip cost was $190 with taxes.Since then I noticed the flight from Boston has gone up about $30 dollars while the return flight has stayed the same. Our dates are Oct.7 thru 13th.

I also looked into an October mother/son holiday. I figured out it would be cheaper to fly down on Jetblue @$79+ = $87.70 with everything.
Song on the way back $69. + = $77.70 for a total of $165.40 the security fee is only $2.50 each way p/p.

I dont think this a bad price for a round trip non stop 2.5 hour trip. And both airlines are comparable.

I will still be able to use the Magic express and save the to/from airport $$.

I am doing the same flight schedule for my May trip for the same fee. I will be using a limo service for the grocery stop this trip.

Did you look at Manchester, NH or Providence for flights? Sometimes they are cheaper.

I got a flight for $155.40 on American Airlines out of BOS. However it is for May which doesn't help you at all.

A web site you can try is www.sidestep.com. It compares airfare from multiple websites and will save you time doing a search yourself.

We are going over Columbus Day weekend, with the return flight on Columbus Day itself. We were very picky about flight times, and so paid more than folks who might be more flexible than we are. We purchased the first week of February since prices were starting to climb, and payed $230 per person for perfect times exactly when we wanted top fly, on Song. JetBlue was more for our dates and the times weren't as good. Of course, the day after we purchased, the price for the trip fell by $20 per ticket for a couple of days, but of course now the flights are even more than we paid, so we're OK with it.

I wouldn't count on prices falling too much. If the flights you want are starting to fill up, then you had better get on it and get your spot on that plane. If you are flexible about flying times or are planning to fly off hours or off days, then you can likely wait until summer safely, and save on the interest.

As for Debster's JetBlue down and Song on the return strategy, if it saves you money, then do it. We did just that in January and saved $40 per ticket. And perhaps since we have FF numbers on both airlines, we did not get pulled out for extra screening, despite the one-ways.
