Just curious about travel insurance for my upcoming 7 day cruise in September. Since I booked using DVC points, if I needed to cancel make a change how does that work? I'm guessing I don't get points back? Do they reimburse you monitarily? My husband will most likely not be traveling w/ me due to his work schedule and I'm probably going to take my mom instead (she's the designated back-up-cruiser). I know that I have to make that change before 75 days out to avoid any penalties -- I just have to pay the $95 booking charge to change his name to hers. DH says if it's just us 2 girls that he'd feel better if we got the travel insurance. Any thoughts? Is it worth it? What does it really cover? I mean, in the off chance something were to happen a week or so before the cruise and we couldn't go do I loose everything with or without the insurance?? I've cruised 7 times w/ Disney and only purchased insurance on the 1st cruise which was not through DVC and it was 9 years ago so I don't really remember much about it. Please HELP!! :confused3

We have only cruised with Disney on points once. We did not buy the Disney insurance as it did not seem worth it: you only get $5 per point.

Now, I did buy insurance from an outside company that covered trip cancelation and medical coverage.

Could you please share the name of the insurance you used? We are interested in that type of insurance for our August cruise. Thank you!
