Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone here has been able to book interline rates for the Dream or Fantasy. I have clients who are eligible, but I'm wondering how likely it is that they'll become available for October sailings of the Fantasy. In my mind, it's doubtful, and I'm encouraging them to book now and lock in the rate. However, I'd love to hear your experiences.

Anyone? popcorn:: I'm thinking this means not too many have been successful with the interline rates....

CM perks and discounts aren't supposed to be discussed on the boards, of which, interline rates would be one.

Interline rates are not necessarily a CM perk or discount. Interline is available to people working for lots of travel and hospitality industry companies. For example, a friend who works for a regional airline uses interline rates to take cruises on several different lines. The question really doesn't have anything to do with CM perks.

There have been offers for the Dream, but usually rather last minute.

Interline arent CM perks!!

I have had great luck with Dargal in the past - several cruises I was able to snag for $749 for a balcony seven day cruise.

They have some dates up for Dream and Fantasy as well - but not yet October.

Excuse me for thinking this, due to the LAST time this was brought up. This is what the OP of THAT thread was told..

I posted on the boards the first time I saw a Dream interline rate offered. It was very close to sail date and was a pretty good deal (maybe $400 for a 4 day?)

If I recall, and I'm not great with search, people were complaining that airline employee were getting discounts and military people weren't and the thread went downhill fast.

I have seen the Dream a couple times since for similarly good prices, also on Dargal. We took our first cruise on the Magic last fall and got a great price, around $600pp for a balcony, the kids were a little less, and tips were included/prepaid. It's anybody's guess if the Fantasy will pop up but if it does, it will certainly be for some random, low occupancy week. I would never count on it for any particular dates.

:goodvibesMy understanding of interline rates with the cruise was that you had to call 60 or 90 days out to see if it was available and then would get the discount off the prevailing rate. We booked our spring break cruise over a year ago and the way the rates have gone up we would still be paying more with the interline discount if it was available which it isn't. Any cruise that isn't completely booked would probably be discounted way before that time period to the general public. Perx and Dargal have some interline rates but really if you book far in advance you can beat those or match them in the end. :love:I have much better luck booking interline for DW but I have to be really open to whatever happens to be open at the time - which we are.

This wasn't how it worked for us. We had booked (and paid in full) a November cruise, and after the PIF date, interline rates became available. I called to inquire about changing and they said my only option was to pay the cancellation charge for my original reservation and rebook a new one. Because it was SO much cheaper, I came out ahead paying the cancellation fee (and got prepaid tips, and moved from an inside to a balcony).

Yes, I saw several interline rates for March last month on the Dream. I booked one for 4/15. Deals you cannot pass up!

If I may ask...what is an underline rate? 1st time on the cruise forum. Is this avail. For general public?

It's a rate for airline employees and people working in the hospitality industry.

I don't know about hotel employees, but the websites that offer interline rates (like dargal) list who is eligile for those rates.
What is u.s.? If you mean the United States, then no, I'm Austrian and often use interline rates (never done for cruises, though).
Yes, whenever I used interline rates, I had to go myself and present my ID upon check in.

I found this regarding eligibility online, and it mirrors what I remember.

The following people qualify for airline employee cruise discounts on Disney Cruises: Commercial airline employees, spouses, dependent children under 21 and retirees of the airlines (not defunct carriers). Parents of employees are NOT eligible at this time. A copy of your airline ID within 48 hours of booking or Disney Cruises reserves the right to adjust the booking to regular rates. Rates are valid on new bookings only, if within the final payment date.

Well - maybe not. I see this on another site:

- An active employee of scheduled passenger airline only
- Retirees of scheduled passenger airlines only
- Two (2) rooms or staterooms per booking for eligible airline employee (active or retired)
- Airline employee MUST be a member of the traveling party

But I seem to remember thinking I could travel by myself (my husband is the airline employee). Does anybody know the official policy?

I thought interline rates were like fight club...you just don't talk about them.
