Anyone bid Airfare with Priceline?

DD is looking for a cheap fare for early July. Has anyone used Priceline lately for airfare? Would love to hear types of results.
I did a search on these boards but mainly found hotel deals or car rentals.

Haven't done it in years. Almost always got stuck on the last flight out of the day and on the first one back. I saved usually about $40 off the lowest price published, but would never do it again.

How do you know this? I couldn't find any information on it and I even wrote Priceline twice and they would not answer me. That is the only airline I DON'T want to fly!

They show up in the list of airlines. Makes you wonder.

I just did a "look see" on Priceline and they gave me a list of airlines and their prices, Spirit was not listed for that search. They are, however, listed in the list of airlines.

Ah, ha. I used boston to orlando for my search and it did not come up when I specifically requested it, but, on the list of airlines to select from Spirit is there, so, that alone would make me very cautious.

I do not know if thy have a "do not use" list as Spirit is listed but I have used Priceline for several trips and so far all United and American as carriers.

Thanks for the replies. We went SW. Years back priceline was pretty popular on these boards but it seems that its not used so much for flights anymore.
I never had a good feeling about spirit. Although never flew spirit. /Seems like from here many do not care for it.
