Hello, we are travelling to LA in July and are going to Universal Studios. I understand that Disney no longer does guest assistance passes to enable queuing in a quite area but Im sure I read somewhere that Universal still had them. Can anyone who has been there recently confirm please? I have two daughters one with adhd and one with autistic spectrum traits. We will take relevant doctors letters etc.

Disney discontinued the GAC (Guest Assistance Card). It was not meant to be an immediate access card, but many people were using it to access attractions thru the Fastpass line.
The GAC was replaced with the DAS (Disability Access Service) for guests with disabilities that prevent them from queuing in the regular line.
Guests using DAS get a Return Time and can wait wherever they want until their Return Time comes. At that point, they enter thru the Fastpass or other queue.

There is a post near the top of this board about DAS at Disneyland. The first post in that thread is DAS FAQs.
(There is a separate thread about DAS at WDW - how DAS works in WDW is a little different at WDW than at DL (mostly because WDW has Fastpass Plus and more accessible queues. So, it is important to look at the correct thread.)

Universal's program is very similar to Disney's DAS.
With Universal's assistance pass, you will be given a return time and when that time has passed and you return, you will enter thru a less crowded queue one entrance.

You don't need doctors' notes, but some people feel better having one. At Disney, the CMs will generally refuse to look at them.
If you do bring doctors' notes, they should be about the needs or issues the child has with waiting in the conventional queue, not their diagnosis (not everyone with ADHD and/or autism has the same needs and some manage fine without an assistance card).

thats a brilliant help thank you. we contemplated buying front of line passes but its a lot of money. we will go to guest assistance and get cards from there. many thanks
