Hi, this is my first post ever - I'm going to Disney in 6 days, can't wait! We are planning to go to every park except Epcot with my almost 4 yr old son. My question is should we try to include Epcot, mainly to see the Turtle talk thing? He loves Nemo, but I'm wondering if it will be worth the rushing around to fit Epcot into our three days.

Turtle talk is "awesome dude"-but I don't know if I would go the Epcot (which I adore) just for that one attraction. It's only 15-20 minutes long. Your son is young and he won't know what he is missing. Enjoy the other parks!!!
Have a great trip.

Good answer above...
Turtle Talk is awesome, but that's a lot of time set aside for one attraction. I just had my three year old there, and there wasn't much else at Epcot for her.
I mean, she enjoyed just being out and around, but as far as attractions - that was pretty much it. (She's a bit on the timid side, though.)

Does Crush actually "talk" like he does in the movie? My dd thought he was hysterical ahah

We got back a week ago and took our dd to see it, and she did enjoy it. But I would not go to Epcot just for that. It wouldn't be worth it for us.

I guess I'm in the minority - but my kids all love Epcot.

My 3 yr. old daughter (now almost 4) loved Crush & the entire Living Seas experience. Usually preschoolers love aquariums because they can get up close to the most beautiful marine life around. She wouldn't leave that building!

My son (now 7) loved the little train setup outside of the cuckoo clock shop in the World Showcase. He still wants to see that everytime we go to World Showcase.

My oldest (now 12) loved the Figment ride when he was little. Now his brother & sister always want to go on it. They have a great indoor/interactive playground at the end.

Other "must do" for pre-schoolers:

The musical fountain show in the center hub - I don't know the schedule for that, but it is just beautiful.

The hedge maze in England / World Showcase.

Mexico pavilion indoor boat ride / World Showcase.

The Land boat ride / Future World.

I'm not sure of the height restrictions for Test Track but my boys both consider that #1 in Epcot. If he's not tall enough, then go in through the side entrance (to the gift shop) and there is a great room full of new model cars & concept cars that you can get in and out of. It is the exit area for the ride, where everone filters out into this awesome display for little guys (& big guys) who love cars.

Also, Epcot has a great character area that seems to never get really crowded. I don't know how publicized it is, but tons of characters are there, and they appear at sceduled times during the day.

Have Fun!

Last year, my daughter then aged 9, loved Turtle. She wore an England t-shirt on purpose, sat right at the front, and was chosen by "Crush" to be spoken to. The interaction was brilliant! He asked her if she could swim, she said yes, he then went on to ask her if she could swim really, really fast like this - he then swam at what looked like 100 miles an hour!! (don't know what that is in km an hour!) She still talks about him as though he was real. I have heard that Dory has now joined him? Daughter says we must go back this year because she will be able to talk whale with her :rotfl2:

I have 3 boys under 5 years old and they all love Turtle Talk and the whole living seas pavillion. They also enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies in the Land and the photo lab at Journey into Imagination. My oldest loves Cranium Command (which wasn't open last time we went mad face) The boys weren't old enough for Mission Space but there is a cool playground and interactive area where they felt like they went on MS. They also love Club Cool my oldest is this (IMHO) adorable platnium blonde with big blue eyes he would walk around Club Cool looking for "newbies" he would kindly offer to explain how everything worked ~ he would have them sample China(watermelon soda) and Isreal ( a honey lemon lime soda) and then he would have them ... Oh here this is BEVERLY its from Italy .. (cue evil laughter ) he would crack up at their faces. I can't tell you how many people he did this to. They loved the trains in Germany and the Thomas stuff in England. They got snacks in the different countries. Our boys really enjoyed EPCOT and the Kidcot stations were fun. I say go.

I have to admit, it isn't just my two dds that love it. We took Grandma and Grandpa in Dec. and we saw it twice, they loved it so much. And I love them to death but GM and GP tend to be stuff shirts. I really think my husband could do crush...he talks like that all the time with my girls. LOL! They have added Dory and I had to laugh at the speaking whale part. When my girls start to whine I tell them they are speaking whale and I don't understand whale.

Worth every minute, do it!

Crush is awesome! We saw it January and think it's a must for kids of all ages. Although Epcot is not your usual theme park, I find there are many interesting things for children to do. Innoventions, create your own mask in WS, living with the land boat ride......

You should go!

My 3yo ds LOVED Epcot. He loved:
- Soarin'
- Figment ride and the photo lab after
- Innoventions
- Mexico boat ride
- Norway boat ride
- living with the land
- meeting all the characters when they got off the bus
- Spaceship Earth

The Living Seas was closed when we went. We're really looking forward to that.
