DH and I are booked for the Oct 21 cruise on the Magic from NYC to Prince Edward Island (PEI) and Nova Scotia. This is our third Disney cruise. We have been on a 4 day Bahamas/ Castaway Cay cruise on the Wonder and an Alaska cruise on the Wonder. They were wonderful trips.

This is our first Disney cruise as a couple since DD is starting college this fall.

What are the "Must-see" and "Must-Do" items in PEI and Nova Scotia?

I'd love to hear what my fellow Disers think.

Thanks!

I have not been on one of the Canada cruises, but I live just outside of Halifax. There is lots to see. A favourite on this board is Peggy's Cove, it is about 45 minutes outside of downtown Halifax. If you want to stay in Halifax there is plenty to see. There is the Titanic cemetary and the Museum of the Atlantic that has some artifacts from the Titanic.

Citadel hill is very interesting it is a military fort in the heart of the city. http://www.novascotia.com/see-do/attractions/halifax-citadel-national-historic-site/1440 Near Citadel Hill is the Public Gardens and Spring garden, a shopping area in Halifax. You can also stick to the waterfront for shopping, and there are brewery tours in the area as well.

We were on the Magic last Oct and one of the ports was Halifax. It's a wonderful place to visit. As PP mentioned, Peggy's Cove is lovely (though jammed with people). We also really enjoyed visiting the cemetery where some of the Titanic victims were buried - very moving. We took a private tour - http://opentoptours.ca - and had a wonderful day. We visited Lunenberg and Mahone Bay and both were really pretty. Our guide went out of his way to find all kinds of little picturesque spots as we were primarily interested in photography.

We are going on another Canadian cruise next year and it also stops in Halifax. This time we may spend more time exploring the waterfront area and possibly taking a tour to some wineries. We will also be stopping in PEI, but I have just begun researching that area. I'll be curious to see what responses you get regarding that port. I know Anne of Green Gables is a big draw there, but I've never read the books, so haven't looked into that at all.
